This may be the dumbest #Reds take ever. Dick Williams thought Jose Peraza & Dilson Herrera were two of the best prospects in baseball when he went out of his way to acquire them based on his analytics.
@HeyGingersaurus The #Reds should not be interested in Hancock. He has no track record. I would stay away from the Mariners, unless they are packaging OF Jonny Farmelo & C/OF Lucas Stevenson. Mariners getting 2 years, 2 months + playoffs of Steer.
@RedsDaily4@PeterAppel23 The #Reds would definitely not do this trade. There is no reason to move Steer. Right handed power hitters are in demand, plus he’s got plenty of control. So the offer would have to be, can’t say no.
Strong addition for Wake Forest.
Four-star ⭐️ RHP David Hinojosa, who had been a Vanderbilt commit, is now heading to Wake Forest.
Hinojosa was a Cincinnati Reds 15th-round pick this year and one of the top RHPs in the 2026 class.
I think the Reds are crushing it on Day 1.
1.18 - Justin Lebron | SS | Alabama
2.58 - Eric Becker | SS | Virginia
CB.70 - Vai Levu | 1B | UCLA
3.94 - Ty Horn | RHP | Nebraska
Joe Katuska said that the Reds viewed Eric Becker, the Reds’ second-round pick, as a first-round talent.
Becker is known for his hit tool, which shined at Virginia. He's so well known for that that Katuska said his traits go underappreciated. Really interesting pick.

…and OF Sawyer Strosnider & OF Caden Sorrell went to Divison rivals #Brewers & #Cubs with their next picks in the next 8 selections.
#Reds chose SS Nick Becker over those two. Becker has no elite tools but has a decent floor. Stro & Sorrell were athletic OFers with 30+HR Power.
Breaking: Today the Reds front office finally addressed the outfield position, the long-standing disaster across the organization, by using several top draft picks on outfie … wait [checking ear piece] I’m being told, dammit, it’s zero, they selected *zero* outfielders.
@Supercrazy_2 Nothing, even those 19 errors, can change the fact that Justin LeBron is an elite defender. Between 2024 and 2025 he had a total of 20 errors. I did explain to you that he had some erratic fielding errors to start out his Junior season. #Reds
Getting SS Justin LeBron was a coup.
Coming into this season he was the #1 player on the board.
LeBron is a tremendous addition to the organization. #Reds
Heading into the draft, ESPN ranked Justin Lebron as the No. 8 player and Eric Becker as the No. 23 player. The Reds picked Lebron at pick 18 and Becker at pick 58.
