@MargaretW8891 @nytimes I was in from 08-12. I deployed for 9 months in ‘10. It’s rough, but at least I got to see land every 30-45 days. These sailors aren’t upset about the length of deployment, that’s normal. It’s that they’ve not been allowed a break from operations in 9 months- which is unheard of.

@burkmericanN @nytimes I was in the Navy- on the Lincoln itself from 08-12. Most of the food we got was already rotting when I was deployed. Internet was spotty at best, and usually restricted due to ops. At least I got to be on land every 45ish days- these people haven’t SEEN land in 9 months. GFY
