I explored Nigeria’s Akwete cloth, a traditional woven textile that originated from Akwete village in Abia State, Nigeria 🇳🇬.

What made it even more interesting to me is how similar it is to our Ghanaian kente. The finished pieces can look quite similar, but the weaving techniques and processes are different.

Different countries, different traditions, but so much creativity and skill across our continent.

Africa is truly talented.
