@HuskersMN@HuskersX@TonyLiebert If I recall correctly, he spoke about having built a relationship with Dennis Dottin-Carter (DL coach who was let go after the ‘25 season). Minnesota wasn’t able to make up ground after that
@cp10101010@TonyLiebert And fwiw, I think Iowa is probably 8-4 this year and the Floyd of Rosedale is likely decided by one-score
Imo, last year’s Iowa team was a top 3-5 team in Ferentz’s tenure (7 draft picks!). Had a couple of things gone their way, I thought that team belonged in the Playoff
@cp10101010@TonyLiebert That score was not indicative of the actual gap between the teams. It got out of control early and the cascading effect made it worse. While I have tons of respect for Ferentz and that staff, I’m basing my prediction off of all the lost production from last year’s Iowa team
@JeffreyTheGreek I’ll say Bobby Hauck at Illinois
The 3-3-5 Defense is just fun. As Bud Elliott hypothesized, perhaps they’re tapping into some sort of market inefficiency (not spending big money on pass rushers, and instead are generating pressure through stunts and various blitzes)
@___daner Going to be a fun year for Minnesota HS football! Moorhead, Shako, Tonka, all have multiple seniors with D1 offers
I’d also keep an eye on Rosemount, Champlin Park, and Lakeville South
@Marcus_R_Fuller@StribSports To me, seeing a group of kids competing alongside friends they’ve played with their whole lives is what makes high school sports special. Maybe that’s idealistic?
I understand there are legitimate reasons to transfer, but from the outside it often feels transactional
@DaltonBarrett15@Ahlibobwa26 Are we sure the D-Line is great?
We all think highly of Anthony Smith, Menz, TJ Bush… but not one of them consistently plays on the interior D-Line
I think success is highly contingent on the three interior D-Line transfers hitting (Crowder, Chapman, and Kaba)
@TheBigTenHuddle@FanDuel Northwestern will be playing for the 10th week in a row without a bye on Nov 21st. And w/ @ Oregon, Iowa, and @ OSU the three weeks prior to the Minnesota game
@TonyLiebert A possible replacement for Sophie Hart is Avery Koenen from NDSU. She’s a 6’3” forward from Montevideo, MN.
Averaged 19.4-10.8-2.4 this year en route to being named the Summit League POY and DPOY. Also a 2x All Conference player
Has one year of eligibility remaining
@aidannonx@AJA_Cortes If I’m not mistaken, of the big YouTube fitness creators, Nippard adopted the approach of training near or to failure relatively early. However, as of more recently, Mike Israetel was anti-training close to failure
@CFBwSam Are people overlooking the losses Iowa suffered this offseason? Still expect them to compete, but 10-2?
