Stupid ideas in 3 steps:
1. Dig coal in Australia – steal indigenous land & water
2. Send more than 500 coal carriers/year through the Great Barrier Reef to India
3. Sell dirty coal to Bangladesh & cause 705M Tons of CO2/year

Just finished our extraordinary Managing Board Meeting. We evaluated all options and concluded: We need to fulfil our contractual obligations. Also, we will establish an effective Sustainability Board to better manage environmental care in the future. https://t.co/uPgjPgwFrr
In our meeting yesterday, @JoeKaeser admitted that he is fully aware of the disastrous consequences of the Adani-coalmine in Australia. If @SiemensDE decides to continue providing it with critical infrastructure, this is on him. #KaeserFuelsFires

The most overlooked aspect of the #StopAdani case:
If all fossil fuel contracts currently signed will be enforced, the 1.5° target will be missed. So companies supporting the Paris Agreements will have to start dropping out of such contracts. It's math. And @JoeKaeser knows that.
Climate Strike Sydney, Australia
Week 18.
Approximately 1.25 billion animals killed. Tens of people have lost their lives. Thousands of houses destroyed. Countless ecosystems decimated. And still our leaders refuse to act.

Many climate scientists have been waiting for a couple of decades for a self-critical media reflection on the space given to unscientific denial, distortion and deception. Here’s a good one. https://t.co/Uf8SXtkoHh
“This rain is not ordinary rain” – another reason to increase the pressure in 2020. Our thoughts are also with those affected in Indonesia where at least 30 people were killed and tens of thousands left homeless by the current floods.

This is why we have been hitting the streets in 2019 & why we won't back down in 2020. Activism is our last chance to prevent this from becoming the "new normal". This year has to become the year of climate action – there is no alternative. #AustraliaBurning#ClimateCrisis
In the upcoming days, @JoeKaeser and @SiemensDE will decide about their involvement in the Carmichael coalmine. Send them your messages under the hashtag #StopAdani!
With your involvement in one of the most disastrous mining projects in modern history, you’re putting fuel to the fire @JoeKaeser! We – the youth – demand you to #StopAdani and end your support of the project.
This statement from @Yale about why it won't divest from oil and gas companies, quoted by @emorwee in today's HEATED, is straight up climate denial.

The climate and ecological emergency is the defining issue of our generation. Whatever path we choose, one thing is for certain: the next five years will alter the course of human history forever.
Millions of lives hang in the balance. And Boris Johnson won't even talk about it.
