Football must have law which keep games fair and in spirit of the game the best matches are where the referee is rarely need and everybody plays with respect for each other. Some laws are black and white some are subjective to interpretation and experience.
🚨🗣️ Pierluigi Collina on the controversial tackle involving Lionel Messi:
“The rule is the rule, but football is not played on paper.” 👀
😳 “When referees review these incidents, they do not only look at where the contact is made.”
“They also consider the intensity, the force used and whether the action endangered an opponent.”
🔥 “People see a challenge and immediately say red card or no red card.”
“But the laws of the game require a deeper analysis.”
“The difference between a yellow card and a red card can often be the level of force involved.”
“Context matters. Intent matters. The safety of the opponent matters.”
⚖️ “That is why VAR exists: to help referees evaluate every detail before making the final decision.”
