Mind you that Greeks were the original custodians of Crimea and Russia had motives to reconquer lost Byzantine lands

But Russia was the one who originally conquered those lands from the Ottomans im the 17th 18th centuries, as a policy they had vast Christians all over Russia, Ukraine, and the Balkans settle the lands

Ukraine already has volatile borders let alone people demanding that Irredentism take place
