About once a year this app has a collective meltdown about going out to eat alone, a thing I do all the time and never even think about. I suggest you all log off and go outside.
As a dad of little kids in the public eye, this hits close to home. Swatting children through Child Protective Services is abusive — and an affront to the kids who need help, and to the people who help them. This criminal must be caught & severely punished.
Tremendous respect for how Pete is handling this, but the anger & sadness he describes should resonate with us all. If this is the price of politics, then nobody with a family is going to pay it.
This week someone targeted my family for harm with a false report. We’re physically OK, but that doesn’t mean we weren’t harmed. I am beyond furious.
Whatever your politics, this is awful, wrong, and can never become normal. https://t.co/72wxaVLzVT
I remember Obergefell day so vividly.
I was a high school junior, closeted, scrolling my iPod Touch the night before my birthday.
Eyes filled with tears, because I knew it’d be okay. Someday, I’d have courage and space to be open about who I love.
Remind myself every day. 🏳️🌈
"Why isn't the garbage picked up reliably? Why can't we do anything about the ubiquitous rats on our streets? Why are the rec centers closed on the weekends"
Exactly why I voted for Rini. Why do we pay so much in taxes and basic govt functions just don't work well...
Hmm. Her guest stint last season was pretty bad. I'm also worried that they're spending more budget on judges than the actual challenges (they only gave them 1-day challenges last season).
JFK once invited to dinner 49 Nobel laureates, Robert Frost, William Styron, Ernest Hemingway, James Baldwin, Katherine Anne Porter, John Dos Passos, James Farrell and Lionel and Diana Trilling, and others. His line on the occasion became famous: “I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered together at the White House—with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."
Some of you were alive when that happened.
I’ve consistently raised concerns about the effectiveness of the Fair Elections Program. It is inappropriate to use taxpayer funds on campaigns when it cannot keep big money out of politics. It is even more concerning when there are violations by multiple candidates of the program.
I was debating whether I wanted to say anything about this, but a member of Janeese Lewis George’s team came up to me and said that we will never get rid of the corruption in D.C. and so I should stop trying. On the news that she has been fined for campaign finance violations, I felt compelled to speak up. Corruption kills. Make sure you vote by June 16th, this Tuesday. https://t.co/jF9vrnkYQp
