📣Introducing the mega workstation build for Code Four! This marks my second high-end system for them, all thanks to a referral. A few months ago, they were considering an upgrade, and their decision to wait for the Intel Xeon w9-3495x has definitely paid off.
Their previous build, featuring the AMD Threadripper 3990x with PBO, outperformed the TR Pro 5995wx. Considering this, I believed that the Intel Sapphire Rapids w9-3495x would be a worthwhile upgrade once overclocked, and it indeed delivered on that expectation.
This happens to be the most expensive system I've worked on, and since Code Four is just one state away, I thought it would be fantastic to personally deliver it. Visiting their amazing office was a delight! The conference room, with its glass table supported by helicopter rotor blades, was truly impressive. It literally stopped me in my tracks. Witnessing the team members' reactions to the build was an enjoyable experience.
Here are the incredible specs of the workstation:
-Case: Fractal Design Meshify 2 XL
-Processor: Intel Xeon w9-3495x 56core/112 thread (OC)
-Motherboard: Asus Pro WS W790-Ace

-Storage: 4TB Kingston Fury Renegade (qty 2)
-Power Supply: Seasonic 1600w Platinum
-Chassis Fans: Noctua Redux PWM (qty 4)
-RGB Lighting: Razer RGB Light Controller
-Operating System: Windows 11 Pro
Thank you to all of my clients, referrals are what account for most of my work! 🚀✨
Last month, one of my clients received their new desktop systems and sent me one of the nicest emails I've ever received in a while. I have to share it:
"We opened those bad boys up today. They are a work of art! We almost want to get the clear case to show off the workmanship."
Comments like this are why I personally build every desktop that leaves my shop.
From a business perspective, it might make more sense to outsource assembly, but with my name on the business, every system feels personal. I take a lot of pride in knowing exactly how each workstation was built, tested, and prepared before it reaches a client.
My goal is to keep it that way for as long as I can. One day, passing the business on to my twin boys. This summer I'll be introducing one of them to overclocking, stress testing, and quality control so he can start learning the process. He has a great eye for detail and is already very technical. When he's finally big enough to build desktops, I have a feeling his cable management will look a lot like mine. 😁

And just like that, the last open work order has shipped! This workstation left the shop 2.5 weeks after payment, right within the 2–3 week lead time I strive to maintain.
What makes this build especially rewarding is that it went to a new client who was referred by an employee at one of my existing clients. How cool is that?
I am incredibly thankful for referrals like this. After 11 years in business, most of my work still comes from referrals. That trust allows me to do what I love, provide for my family, and keep up with my two boys hockey adventures... and if you're familiar with youth hockey, you'll know that having a goalie isn't exactly the budget friendly option 😵💫😁

@TrevRetro@Noctua_at I am curious, what case are you using? I am not doubting your experience, just trying to learn from your experience myself. I have cases I work with that can be a struggle.
@Noctua_at@TrevRetro Way louder? I'd be curious where they're mounted. The case vents can make a big difference in perceived noise. The fans you're comparing are roughly 51 CFM vs 63 CFM, RPM isn't an apples to apples noise comparison. Airflow and pressure performance need to be considered too
@FarandPaulJr Oh totally, for a good while I used to think man, Titanium square or Longines Spirit? Who would go G-shock at that price. The thing is, I wear my steel square SO MUCH because it is a perfect tool watch for me, it would be fun to have the "luxury" version of it.....one day
I agree, its just little things with it. For example, it is the only G-Shock I own without an hour signal and it just has one daily alarm. The other thing is that the hour markers do look like plated plastic. Casio has done a better job on the GST-B400 and GBM2100 watches I own.
What I do love is the design and it gave me more appreciation for the MRGB2100, the second hand on every model I have seen hits its marker perfectly and it has a timer and stopwatch function which I do use sometimes daily. It is VERY legible too.
@GSHOCK_OFFICIAL Looks good but wish all G-Shock came with at least a SNZ and hourly alarm. 20 second alarm would be welcome too over 10 seconds. So funny how the alarm functions vary so much across such similar products. Hard to get away from the trust squares.
Wow time flies, this commercial electrical contractor first started purchasing systems from us in 2022, and now they have quite a few systems deployed on site. Shipped two of these systems to them this week.
This year they added two more laptops and two more desktop workstations to the fleet. Really appreciate the continued trust and support over the years!
Key Specs:
• Case: Fractal Define 7 Compact
• CPU: Intel 285K
• Memory: 128GB RAM
• Storage: 2TB + 2TB NVMe SSDs
• Graphics: RTX 5070ti 16GB GPU
@FarandPaulJr Thanks, yeah I was in the same boat till I saw it in person. Considering I spent something like $500 on the steel square, I was open to the price point. Wish they remade some of the vintage watches with this level of quality, would spend $200-600 again depending on features.
@FarandPaulJr Yeah, shame it was limited on all variations but I think because the blue/greyish dial was numbered, it gets marked up on sites, others aren't numbered.
I didn't like it online till I saw it in person. It peaked my interest in smaller watches too. Fingerprint magnet though.
