@WomenPostingLs I mean listen, you gotta put yourself out there to make friends. Some people act like the Japanese are made of glass or something and they'll explode if you go "hey man what's up". That being said a giant group in a bar, in any country, SOLO, is basically a non-starter. Cringe!
@xXOmifiXx@COGs_Anemyre@Hazimier_ Even if you see it as theft and choose to stay offline*, I should've worded it like that. So to reiterate: I disagree with you, it isn't the artists' fault, because to exist creatively in today's society at all is to "consent" to being used as training data for generative AI.
@xXOmifiXx@COGs_Anemyre@Hazimier_ No, he's not stealing. Posting it online isn't stealing. Assimilating and agglomerating all digital artworks without the consent of artists for commercial use is a type of stealing though, yes. My point is that even if you don't see it that way you're not given a choice.
@xXOmifiXx@COGs_Anemyre@Hazimier_ Buddy, if you're an artist who has work at a gallery, somebody will take a photo of it. It's normal. The problem is that even if you choose to electively stay offline, your work will be assimilated into training data. That's my point. It's not the artists' fault.
@xXOmifiXx@COGs_Anemyre@Hazimier_ Right, but you said that it's essentially the fault of the artists. And I'm saying that even if you choose to opt out i.e have an offline only presence, you'll be pulled in without the ability to say no just by virtue of existing in modern society.
@xXOmifiXx@COGs_Anemyre@Hazimier_ Scans of old art books on the IA, people's gallery photos from Instagram, literally anything. So there's no "opt-out." The internet is far too ubiquitous nowadays to rely on implicit consent to be scraped.
@xXOmifiXx@COGs_Anemyre@Hazimier_ I post my own doodles so I'm not going to contest that, but I want you to think about what you're saying. Any picture, any time, of any artwork, in any form could be used as training data. So even if you're offline only, someone simply taking a pic and going "cool art" is nowdata
10 yo kids really went from thinking cole, master cheif, niko bellic were cool to fuckin poppy play time and fredy five bears are badass till their like 17
@CapnJDic@dblasphemy Buddy, you can get the .iso for Bryce 3D on the Internet Archive, you just have to run it in compatibility mode. Here's some low-effort stuff from last year
"Ahh yes, we've been expecting you. You'll have to be recorded before you're officially released. There are a few ways we can do this, and the choice is yours."

@HitmanNumber86@gusinater There was no internet entertainment economy sustained by edgy teens who have seen too much shit on LiveLeak. Closest is maybe Faces of Death but nothing like today, this crude exhibitionism we live in. If you can't tell the difference I can't help you.
@HitmanNumber86@gusinater Last reply cuz you're not intent on understanding. My mom witnessed a kid from her neighborhood get his head crushed when she was 6 years old. The difference between that and today is there's no discord group chat going "lolz epik reelistic brain splattered" with a video.
