@Truthful_ast You may be a little optimistic about the timeline imo, but I do think we have a good pace.
So much was promised in space enthusiasts circles that people got the habit to get skeptical to avoid being disappointed. As for anti-space people, they are irrelevant anyway ๐คญ
@IsThisA3DModel To be fair that post used the conditional, but yeah, back in the days, these people would had at least cobbled something together by themselves.
And we would still have said it was shit anyway, but the implications were different and the internet was less unpleasant.
@sol_plunder Music can be played with an instrument. And the natural world is full of music for those who can notice it.
I was also pondering how complex a computer could one make with handmade photolithography. A low tech network of vhf nodes operated by makeshift servers.
@flowerornament You may want to reach Pedro Domingos. In case you haven't read this one, you'll probably resonate with his current work. https://t.co/mWZBfTF7K9
@sol_plunder Sailing is easy, not being able to keep the ship together is what make a lot of people quit. Cost wise, it can get very cheap for someone frugal with a simpler boat.
Aside from managing supplies, maintenance and the weather, how this life is depend on what drive people.
@sol_plunder I'm quite surprised that you guys actually made your current work public. And its reasonably documented as well. What was the rationale behind this move?
@realculture_man Wasn't Christmas an adaptation of Yule? The sun god is also supposed to be reborn on winter solstice by the goddess which he impregnated.
I was told that by a wiccan girl, but still, that was an interesting framing.
@RoguesPhilo@DanielB02277937 If a small community cannot build without any dependency to Industrial Society, a launch system, it may as well not exists.
But I do believe in human craftsmanship, some people are exploring the buoyancy route to space.
Before becoming a sailor I wanted to be an airship nomad...
@RoguesPhilo It becomes very hard to take a lot of people perspectives seriously when you live in relative autonomy.
My next step is to assemble some kind of fleet
I found a lot of high quality content on this app recently.
People who are complaining should question their behavior and what's actually stimulating them.
@RoguesPhilo I wholeheartedly agree, especially about engagement zombies. Everyone who has tied their survival to generate income this way needs to wake up before it's too late for them.
To a larger extent, most of livelihoods are tied to what is adversarial to us, few actually live honestly.
@ArditiFou Ce qui est beau, c'est que tous les communiquรฉs de condamnations des diverses cellules YR se sont fait ratios. Cette gรฉnรฉration est irrรฉversiblement basรฉe.
@Jonathan_Blow@CutterHealer@thekitze This behavior seems to have infected all of Western business and political culture.
Let it all burn down, a lot of us value you as a craftsman, we shouldn't take ourselves too seriously while using this app!
Are you for real?! This platform which by its nature, will always be subjected to the whims of whoever controls it? If you did not tie your baby into a blockchain and actually had a practical approach to what you saw as frozen computing, maybe by the time you reached the apogee of your social capital (you're sinking btw), you could had proposed the world an attractive, efficient, censorship alternative.
A decade ago, I actually believed in you, this is so depressing. At least you realize you were fucking wrong.
By the way, money offer no real power, you don't buy loyalty! Caesar himself did only pay his armies when he won the civil war and then could do so. And if you cannot run an army with no money, it just show your soldiers cannot survive without a greater structure, which can cut all your logistics.
But working on becoming whole is too much for the modern man, he'd rather change the "system" which he cannot survive without.
