sure, humans show preferences for certain types of faces they believe to be more trustworthy. these preferences can be rooted in racism, though, so shouldn’t that inform one’s research before one constructs an AI that mimics human biases?

I think it should be obligatory for all scientists to study the history and philosophy of their science and face the horrors of the things that have been done in the name of ‘science’ and engage with this horror explicitly in their ethics forms before they practice science.
