@GabRoXR I haven't seen much/any coverage of the Stills capture on the 360 drones. I saw the Avata 360 does 17K stills and in RAW. I expect there'd be a sharper resolve from using a stills-capture than the video. Have you tried stills on the A1 yet ?
@HDMOVIESOURCE Annoyingly I sold the early DVD 'Toy Box' edition with Sooooooo many extras. I don't have the CLV Laserdisc Box yet but perhaps it's the same extras. I think my favourite version is the 3D Bluray.
@GabRoXR FWIW my workflow is to align in RealityScan (Free) and then be able to go out to PostShot, Lichtfeld or other. At least having the same alignment lets one compare .ply outputs from anything that doesn't transform the dataset. Even being able to get a polygon output can be handy!
@HDMOVIESOURCE Interesting mention of the compression rate development. I hadn't heard this mentioned before. What do we know about the codec improvements or encoder software developments ? Interesting topic.
@the4kCollectivE I got so excited starting my LaserDisc collection that I bought TWO copies of Twister! Lol Looking forward to spinning it in AC3 as a nod to the occasion. It was one of my first DVDs too (IIRC)
I'm at 68 uploads of VHS tapes I've digitized for preservation on the Internet Archive. ๐ผ๐
All of them are either lost media or have original commercials. ๐บ
Let's get to 100 asap! ๐ฏ (Link below)
@HDMOVIESOURCE Agreed with everyone so far. Great story, great 3D presentation. I felt it was a bit too "buttery". Dreamy and glowy aesthetic along with the accent took me out a tad. I own it but would probably reach for a documentary about him, next time.
@j7369 Really great ! I worked in VFX/Advertising and did a lot of sim work (did i mention this was great?) Well, I remember the day a senior director told me "Don't you know they use PAINT in the tv ads?" and it almost ruined me! haha
@HollywoodComet Nice! I just started collecting LaserDisc this year and last week enjoyed "The Birds" but in Open Matte format (the whole negative!) which was a delight. Lovely format to collect....
@Azadux Yes, I have a 'small business' NAS in the QNAP Ryzen 12-drive category. 4x SSDs on one layer, 8x HDDs on another tier and then several NVMe SSDs internal. Dual 10Gbe out. Once the images are loaded, it's all GPU time but the preparation of images is great on the SSD layers.
@vashikoo I'm a big physical media and cinephile but I did chuckle at the thought that 4:3 Television gave way to the various Widescreens ARs as a way to get audiences into a theatre/point of difference and now it's going back to a similar AR to get people back to theatres.
@Azadux I'm about to jump into this but have considered 'timer-based Stills shooting' as the ability to get RAW outputs seems interesting. Any experience with that shooting mode yet ? DJI says "15520ร7760" resolution stills (!)
@DuckbillStudio Very impressive results! Thank you also for comparing PortalCam. I've found the LiDAR is amazing for accelerating 3DGS however the image sensors are so bad and there's almost no way to bind mirrorless photography with PortalCam's LiDAR : (
