The execution process for Tony Carruthers was halted ("for now") with much blood and pain reported after a failed attempt to perform a cutdown to access a vein. Issues of due process and untested DNA evidence with could prove innocence in this case not withstanding, government cannot be trusted with the power to kill prisoners, and they certainly cannot be trusted to get it right, every time. It is well past time to abolish the death penalty."
