In Shi’a jurisprudence and religious rulings, homosexuality (liwat for men and musahaqah for women) is considered a major sin.

The punishment for these acts varies depending on different circumstances (such as the nature of the sexual act and marital status) and includes prescribed Islamic penalties such as execution, flogging, and exile.

The details and rulings are discussed below:

1. Liwat (sexual intercourse between two men)

Liwat carries some of the most severe rulings in Shi’a jurisprudence. The punishment for both the active and passive participants (if the act is proven) is as follows:

🚨Execution: According to the majority of Shi’a jurists, if the act involves penetration, the punishment is execution. There are differing opinions regarding the method of execution, including beheading with a sword, stoning, throwing from a height, or burning.

🚨Flogging: In cases where penetration has not occurred (such as tafkhidh, or intercrural sex), the punishment for both parties is 100 lashes.

🚨Ihsan (being legally married): Some jurists maintain that if a person meets the conditions of ihsan (having a permanent spouse and the legal ability to engage in marital relations), the prescribed punishment is stoning.

CNN has discovered that Darializa Avila Chevalier had a burner account from 2020 to 2022 where she praised communism and communists leaders.

In 2023, a CIA whistleblower alleged that agency officials offered incentives to analysts to support a natural-origin assessment and downplay evidence pointing to a lab leak.

The CIA covered up the lab origin of COVID-19 because USAID funding was central to the creation of COVID-19.
