Day job done, back to DRIFTERS 🚗💻
Still learning as I build the Chaser and its café surroundings. The goal is a car that looks real and feels great to drift.
Small steps after work, shared along the way.

@WeVennStudios The visuals so far! 😅 Getting the Chaser’s shape, materials, and lighting to work together is tricky. I’m still learning, and there’s plenty left to do on the drift feel too. I want both to be satisfying!
Building DRIFTERS 🚗
Modeling a Chaser JZX100 in Blender, refining the body curves, wheels, and lights before bringing it to the café scene in Unreal Engine.
Still a work in progress—aiming for lifelike shapes and materials!

@PlayBrickMortar Haha, I work on DRIFTERS after my day job, so late-night development sounds familiar 😂 Building a daytime scene while it’s dark outside! Looking forward to trying those warm café lights ☕
@PlayBrickMortar All four at once 😂 Thanks for the wheel setup tip! The café scene is daytime for now. A night version with warm café lights could be fun to explore once I’ve refined the car a bit more!
The Chaser is taking shape in DRIFTERS 🚗💨
Today: front and rear screenshots, plus a short drift clip!
Still refining the body, lights, and materials. The goal: a car that looks real and feels great to slide.

@PlayBrickMortar Haha, there’s always one more curve to tweak 😂 One script for all your models sounds neat! I’m using AI to help with Blender and still learning, so I’ll need to check how the wheels are set up. How do you handle yours?
Today's DRIFTERS: a closer look from both sides 🏎️☕
Working on the car's curves, reflections, and the café scene as I aim for photorealism. Still plenty to refine!
What stands out as needing the most work?
#buildinpublic#indiedev#gamedev
@SantanaFrost17 Thanks! 🙌 I’m still learning the lighting side, so I’ll need to check how my current setup handles that. I’m aiming for a more photorealistic look. Would you recommend baked or dynamic lighting for a small street scene with a moving car?
Next for DRIFTERS: a photorealism pass on one hero car and a café block 🏎️🌿
Refining curves, materials, lighting and color, plus more greenery.
These are current dev screenshots. I'll share how this scene evolves!

Yesterday I mentioned a bird's-eye view. Today, here's a first look! 🏎️💨
DRIFTERS from above, behind, and in front. Three perspectives on the drift.
Which would you choose to play with?
#buildinpublic#indiedev#gamedev
@JinghangCn Thanks! 🙌 I’m planning to let players switch camera views, including a front view. I’m also considering a bird’s-eye view to show the drift lines more clearly. Still experimenting to see what feels best!
Same drift, two perspectives 🏎️💨
Today's DRIFTERS clips: front and rear views!
Working toward realistic visuals and drifts that feel great. Which angle do you prefer?

Two projects, more to learn 🌾🏎️
I’ll be building SCARECROW in public alongside DRIFTERS: an AI tool to help turn app ideas into reality.
I’ll also be using Claude more for DRIFTERS development. Excited to share progress on both!
#buildinpublic#indiedev#gamedev
Realistic visuals, satisfying drifts. That’s the goal for DRIFTERS 🏎️💨
What makes drifting fun for you: smooth control, tire smoke, engine sound, or the challenge of holding the perfect angle?

DRIFTERS: Before → After 🏎️💨
Here's a video comparison of my progress toward more photorealistic visuals!
Still plenty to improve, but seeing the changes side by side keeps me motivated.
