Quonset must be transparent with North Kingstown. And when QDC projects will affect the lives of residents, they must engage the public in open dialogue and accessible meetings. I am committed to ensuring that NK has its say in the proposed biosolids processing facility.
Last week, I caught up with @steveahlquist at a busy cafe in Providence. We spoke about the most pressing issues in our state & how I plan to use my experience in law & government to accomplish meaningful change for NK as its next state representative:

Like all of my NK neighbors I was surprised to learn of this proposal late last week. This project deserves public scrutiny from the community it will impact and should never have progressed this far without town input. I will be working with my colleagues to ID solutions & steps
Honor flights commemorate the sacrifice and service of brave Rhode Islanders that fought to defend freedom. Glad to join so many of my colleagues in government this morning at T.F. Green to see our veterans off to Washington, DC.
We were in attendance as @GovDanMcKee signed a slate of new housing bills into law, shepherded through the GA by @JoeShekarchi. Thank you to our elected officials and housing advocates for your continued commitment to expanding housing opportunities for all Rhode Islanders.
Multiple Reps and Senators, including @JoeShekarchi, @RepJoeSolomon, Rep. Stephen Case, @RepCraven, @repmcentee33, Rep. David Bennett, @RepPhillips51 and @MASSforRep participated in a Legislative Boot Camp for Business hosted by the Rhode Island Business Leaders Alliance yesterday. The event, held at Iron Works Tavern in Warwick, was an interactive roundtable conversation between business leaders and legislators.
It's a BIG day at Quonset — we just opened the first new pier at Port of Davisville in 70 years!
This world-class waterfront infrastructure will serve as a gateway to Narragansett Bay for small and growing maritime businesses, supporting product testing, R&D and more.
@Globe_RI: House Judiciary Committee @RepCraven, a North Kingstown Democrat, advocated for the bill, recalling poignant testimony from the police chief in Newtown. Conn., soon after Adam Lanza shot and killed 20 children and six adults at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012. Lanza used an AR-15-style rifle, a type of gun that would be banned by this bill.
Craven said the debate comes down to balancing constitutional rights with trying to save lives, and he said even former US Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has acknowledged that Second Amendment rights are not unlimited.
In a statement after the vote, the House sponsor, @Rep_Jason, noted that assault-style weapons were used in mass shootings such as those in Uvalde, Texas; Parkland, Fla.; and Las Vegas, Nevada.
“They are the preferred weapon of mass shooters because their sole purpose is to vastly increase the magnitude of death and destruction their user can inflict,” he said. “We don’t need them here in Rhode Island.”
Knight, a Barrington Democrat, urged the Senate to pass the bill “and make this the year we take action to end the proliferation of powerful weapons that enable mass shooters to kill as many victims as possible.”

The House today approved legislation introduced by House Judiciary Committee Chairman @RepCraven that would allow vehicle registration and titling to be conducted online.
The legislation would allow for the online registration and titling of motor vehicles, similar to what currently happens with registration renewals.
“A simple fact of life is that no one likes going to the DMV. This bill will save people time and frustration by allowing individuals and businesses to register and title their vehicles online through a secure electronic process. People shouldn’t have to take time-consuming trips to the DMV for the simple task of registering their vehicle and the state should be using technology to make our residents’ lives easier and more convenient. It’s a common-sense bill that will improve the quality of life for Rhode Islanders, while also easing the traffic at the DMV for individuals and businesses that have more complicated matters to handle,” said Chairman Craven.

It was my distinct honor to present the @RIHouseofReps with a Resolution honoring Frank Karpinski, longtime director of the Retirement System and the epitome of a public servant. Thank you for your 30+ years of service, Frank.

Joined my good friend and colleague in government @SenJackReed over the weekend for his 34th annual breakfast. I am always glad to celebrate a champion and strong voice for our state in Washington, DC.
Democracy is founded on the bedrock of free speech. Any attempt to stifle speech in a workplace by threat is antithetical to the liberties we hold dear as Americans. That is why I sponsored H5506 alongside Chair @EvanShanley1.

We have a low- and middle- income housing shortage in our state. To fix it, we need bold solutions so that anyone in any profession can afford to truly call Rhode Island home. Glad to join @GoIUPAT for today’s Rally for Housing Justice
A public servant, a man of distinction and principle, a statesman, a father, and a friend. President Ruggerio was as fine a man as I have ever known and my thoughts are with his family and those close to him today.
Joined the RI Fire Chiefs at TF Green bright and early for an honor flight send off. Honor flights fly veterans of past wars to Washington to visit the memorials that a grateful nation has dedicated to their service.
Today is #northkingstownday at the State House with @RIHouseofReps thanks to @RepCraven and @JulieCasimiroRI! Our 350th Anniversary milestone was big in 2024, and we look forward to sharing highlights of it in Providence later today!

Great to welcome @NorthKingstown to the State House to celebrate the town’s 250th anniversary and show the state all we have to offer. From Electric Boat and Quonset to Ryan Park and the Skippers, NK is an RI treasure.
