@NCHouseGOP has fought for and put forward a budget outline that we can all be proud of. After months of negotiations and input from so many stakeholders, I am grateful for a historic budget deal that will move NC in the right direction. #ncpol
Just so we are ALL CLEAR on what happened today...
Educators and school administrators single-handedly CANCELLED SCHOOL for 700,000 North Carolina students...
...INCLUDING MY SON!!!
To wave signs around in the street instead.
The signs vary from:
a) F**K ICE!!!
b) Defeat Trump's Agenda
c) Trump is a N*ZI
d) ICE OUT!!!
e) Protect trans kids
f) Refuse fascism
g) Stop bombing schools
DO NOT TELL ME THIS WAS ABOUT KIDS.
IT NEVER WAS.
This was ADULTS using 700,000 children, INCLUDING MINE, as political leverage against a president they don't like.
That is despicable.
You know better... DO BETTER.
Your kids are not at school today because their teachers wanted to protest Trump and the school admins went along with it and approved it
The entire school system needs to be shut down
Today a left-wing political group that uses children and teachers as pawns to promote all kinds of left-wing ideologies has forced the canceling of schools across the state in order to rally in Raleigh to fundraise for their organization.
Even though I know many parents are frustrated with the canceling of schools today (rightfully so), I urge those attending today’s rally to leave the unnecessary political jargon at home and come in the spirit of constructive free speech and help us deliver more competitive pay for teachers in NC, higher performing schools, and increases in student achievement.
I urge everyone to support my bill and the passed House budget that raises overall teacher pay by an average of 8.7% and starting teacher pay to #1 in the southeast.
If you haven’t already please read my op-Ed in the News and Observer. #ncpol https://t.co/pAaSDCojUQ
I want to extend my thanks to @AFPNC for recognizing us with their Defender of Freedom award. We will continue to fight for lower taxes, smart investment in the future, and getting government out of the way of private industry!
Rep. @CunninghamNCRep has been a steadfast fighter and strong voice for her constituents despite unthinkable outside pressures. She is a valued member of the @NCHouseGovOps and demands transparency and accountability regardless of party. #ncpol
BREAKING: NC Rep Carla Cunningham has officially left the Democrat party and is now registered as Unaffiliated. This comes after many democrats, including Gov Josh Stein, campaigned against her. Cunningham will be a key figure in veto overrides. #ncpol#ncga
The official Moore County Democratic Party in NC is holding an anti-ICE event to train people how to dox and stalk ICE agents who are arresting illegals and keeping our country safe

Number one in the South.
That’s @ncspeakerhall and the NC House’s goal for starting teacher pay.
It’s time for our state to lead the way when it comes to education. #ncpol

Today, I had the opportunity to meet the fearless State and Local leaders of western North Carolina who are rebuilding their communities after the devastation of Hurricane Helene.
I saw first hand hurricane damage still present and will be making sure @FEMA relief continues to help Americans rebuild their homes and communities.
I am humbled and honored to serve the citizens of our great Homeland. Thanks for having me.
🚨 WOW! DHS Sec. Markwayne Mullin just PERSONALLY surged to the ground in western North Carolina, surveying hurricane damage and advancing FEMA relief
Mullin got appointed by President Trump, swiftly confirmed and hit the ground running!
DHS is in good hands 🇺🇸
Before @SecMullinDHS even lands in WNC tomorrow, he's already delivered $26M+ in Hazard Mitigation funds, approved to reimburse homeowners across Polk, Yancey, and Henderson counties.
These families have been waiting long enough, and I'm grateful he's making sure the money actually moves.
Glad to share that ahead of his visit tomorrow, @SecMullinDHS has approved $26M+ in Hazard Mitigation funds to reimburse property owners for dozens of homes across WNC in Polk, Yancey, & Henderson counties.
Grateful for his efforts to ensure these funds move after long delay.
Last weekend concluded our Republican County Conventions for House District 113. I want to thank all those willing to get involved at the precinct level, that is where elections are won. I cannot wait to work alongside you as we set our sights on November!
Yesterday was a huge day for improving rural healthcare with the opening of the Wound Care Center at Rutherford Regional Health System! Thank you to everyone who had a hand in making this happen. This center will lead to faster recovery times, quicker rehabilitation, and a healthier community.
