I am deeply disappointed by Whirlpool’s decision to eliminate additional jobs in Amana.
These workers helped build Whirlpool’s success. They deserve respect, transparency, and a company that makes good on its commitments to the community.
My focus is on supporting affected workers and their families, and I will continue fighting to protect Iowa jobs and hold Whirlpool accountable to the people who made its success possible.
Wonderful meeting with Kyden and his family with the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
Kyden stopped by to thank me for the Accelerating Kids Access to Care Act, which was signed into law to help children with complex medical needs access specialized care more quickly.
Meeting families like Kyden’s is a reminder of why I came to Congress: to make a difference for Iowa families and ensure every child has access to the care they need.
Members of Congress and the Administration should not be allowed to place bets on prediction markets while making the very decisions that drive those outcomes.
It’s a conflict of interest and the American people deserve better. That’s why I’m cosponsoring the PREDICT Act to put a stop to it.
Nice meeting with Mills President Harry Tannenbaum to discuss innovative ways to reduce food waste and strengthen sustainability efforts.
Mills’ manufactures machines that transform food scraps into nutrient-dense feedstock, creating value from materials that would otherwise go to waste. Mills works with households, restaurants, and grocery retailers, as well as with the EPA’s Feed It Onward initiative to help reduce waste and support agriculture 🐮🌾
Today, I visited the National Association of Community Health Centers’ Mobile Health Unit to see firsthand how these units bring critical care directly to rural communities, veterans, schools, and underserved areas.
Community Health Centers serve 1 in 3 rural Americans. Mobile units like this one are how we close the gaps. Proud to support expanding this kind of care for Iowa.
Great to meet with the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition to discuss the leadership role that the United States and Iowa play in trade, healthcare, and national security. We also discussed how strong American leadership abroad helps create jobs, support local businesses, and drive innovation at home.
Wonderful meeting with Commission for Disability Employment partners to discuss ways to expand employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities in Iowa and ensure they have the tools and support needed to succeed in the workforce.
Had a great meeting with the American College of Rheumatology to discuss physician reimbursement, pre-authorization, and PBM reforms such as my bipartisan DRUG Act, legislation that would help lower prescription drug costs, increase transparency, and ensure patients have reliable access to the medications they need.
Nice meeting with the National Association of Women Business Owners and Women Impacting Public Policy to discuss support for women-owned micro businesses.
We discussed increasing access to capital for women-owned small businesses and the growing role of AI, including both the opportunities and challenges it presents as Iowa businesses continue to grow and innovate.
Here are some more Iowa advocates in action on Capitol Hill, asking for support of the Alzheimer's Screening and Prevention (ASAP) Act.
The team met with @RepMMM staffer Austin, and @RepFeenstra staffer Beau. #ENDALZ
Members of Congress should not be trading individual stocks. It's why I'm one of the few Members who owns ZERO individual stocks.
You can’t serve the American people with one hand and play the market with the other. I’m fighting to ban it because the only thing members of Congress should be investing in is their constituents.
Curt and I are heartbroken by the tragic loss of life in Muscatine today and ask that you join us in prayer for the victims and their families.
I have been in contact with Mayor Bark and have offered the full support of my office as the community responds to this unthinkable tragedy.
Washington doesn’t have a revenue problem. It has a spending problem, and hardworking Iowans are paying the price.
Every dollar lost to waste, fraud, and abuse is a dollar stolen from the people who earned it and families who need it.
Rooting it out isn’t optional. It’s our job.
Every American child born after January 1st, 2025 gets $1,000 to start building their future.
Think about what that means. A head start on college. A first car. A down payment on a home someday. The Baby Investment Accounts app is live right now and I am fired up about it.
Parents, download it today! 🇺🇸👶

Main Street is the epicenter of our local communities. A place to work, shop, and live.
With @RepMMM, I toured Indianola Main Street, which has spurred new economic development while preserving the spirit of the community.
Indianola Main Street is a joint effort of businesses, local leaders, and community members to expand opportunity, while preserving the neighborhood's history.
@SecretaryTurner joined @RepMMM to see how federal, local and private partnerships have supported this revitalization.
Great welcoming HUD @SecretaryTurner to Iowa for a Main Street tour in Indianola today! We walked the blocks and talked affordable housing, downtown revitalization, cutting the red tape crushing small businesses, and how the 21st Century Housing Act, which I just voted to pass in the House, will lower housing costs and make it easier for Iowa’s working families to own or rent a home. 🇺🇸
Had a wonderful visit to the 3M Knoxville plant today. With almost 600 employees and nearly 125 years in business, 3M continues to be a leader in innovation and manufacturing.🇺🇸
What a morning at Mt. Pleasant Amtrak Station!
Proud to celebrate Amtrak's new investment making Iowa’s rails more accessible for travelers with disabilities, veterans, and seniors. We even got to welcome some Iowans home along the way.
Southeast Iowa is moving forward. 🚂🇺🇸
Thrilled to welcome @DrOzCMS to the University of Iowa for a tour of Stead Family Children’s Hospital!
We discussed the Rural Health Transformation Program, cancer treatment and prevention, and of course children’s health, and we couldn’t leave without talking about the Hawkeye Wave.
No better place to have these conversations than right here in Iowa. 🇺🇸
