Ensign Francis C. Flaherty gave his life at Pearl Harbor to save his crewmates aboard the USS Oklahoma. His remains finally came home in 2021 after they were identified, and we laid him to rest in Charlotte with the whole community. Since 1911, City Rescue Mission of Lansing has provided food, shelter, and a safe haven for the most vulnerable people across our community — serving over 2,500 individuals last year alone.
