Rep. Matt Van Epps

Proudly representing Tennessee’s 7th District

[Rep. Matt Van Epps @repvanepps]

I am appalled by the desecration of the Iwo Jima Memorial at Quantico. The Marines who risked their lives fighting against the Axis powers deserve to be revered and celebrated.

We owe these American heroes our eternal gratitude for their courage and sacrifice.

This vandal must be brought to justice.

I’m honored and humbled to receive this award from @AFPhq an organization that has been an advocate for economic freedom, fiscal responsibility, and limited government. AFP’s commitment to empowering individuals, strengthening communities, and holding elected officials accountable has made a meaningful difference in the lives of countless Americans.

Strong communities start with a commitment to making homeownership and property rights attainable for more Americans. I appreciated the opportunity to meet with Tennessee REALTORS to discuss the issues shaping our housing market, expanding access to housing, and supporting the real estate professionals who help families and businesses find their place in our communities.

Before the next generation buys socialism’s promises, it deserves to learn its history. Here's the truth:

➡️Lenin’s regime executed tens of thousands during the Red Terror, and its policies helped worsen a famine that killed approximately 5 million.

➡️Stalin's regime caused millions of deaths through executions, forced labor, deportations, and famine.

➡️Mao's Great Leap Forward contributed to a famine that killed approximately 20–45 million.

What did they have in common? All three led communist dictatorships that claimed to be building socialism.

Burning, destroying, and pillaging won’t make life better for a single French citizen. It destroys livelihoods, endangers families, and leaves communities to pick up the pieces.

Political violence has no place in our country. I'm thankful that Rep. Self and his family are safe and grateful to the FBI and all law enforcement officers who work tirelessly to protect the public and prevent threats from becoming tragedies. We must stand firm in defending our constitutional republic while rejecting violence and intimidation.

[Rep. Keith Self @RepKeithSelf]

I am grateful to the FBI and law enforcement for stopping this threat. My family and I are safe, and I remain focused on serving the people of Texas’ 3rd District.

Preserving our constitutional republic from radical Islam means accepting the costs that come with it—name-calling, threats, and worse.

Our Founders believed this country was worth the sacrifice. I served 25 years in the military because defending freedom was worth the sacrifice. This only strengthens my resolve. I will not back down. https://t.co/FdUMUQ7wk6

The Leftist takeover in France is hard to watch, and it's even harder once you realize that it could happen here in America if Democrats are allowed to implement their open-border agenda. https://t.co/zaIJnM089v

[Fox News Politics @foxnewspolitics]

'CHAOS INC': Fox News Digital investigation identifies 101 organizations across 9 countries coordinating a growing protest network that has already put 500,000 demonstrators in the streets of France.

Activists are calling supporters back to the streets Saturday for "Acte II," with 212 mobilizations planned and a coordinated European youth strike set for Nov. 20.

The network spans communist, socialist, Antifa and Islamist groups in what investigators describe as a "red-green" alliance, with U.S.-based amplifiers including CodePink and organizations funded by American tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham.

You cannot make life more affordable by taxing paychecks, borrowing trillions, and driving up prices, but that is EXACTLY what Democrats intend to do.

[Rep. Matt Van Epps @repvanepps]

The gift of life is one of the most powerful ways we can make a difference in someone else’s future. I had the opportunity to meet with Tennessee Donor Services and learn more about its vital work connecting organ, tissue, and eye donors with individuals in need of life-saving and life-changing transplants. Thank you all for your work and service to Tennesseans.

[Rep. Matt Van Epps @repvanepps]

What is the ultimate goal of the insurgency in France? Destroy Western Civilization. We need to hold the line here in the United States.

[Rep. Matt Van Epps @repvanepps]

A fair and effective justice system depends on the people working behind the scenes to keep it moving. It was extremely valuable to hear directly from the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference about how they equip and support prosecutors across the state’s 32 judicial districts.

[Rep. Matt Van Epps @repvanepps]

I applaud the Trump administration’s new White House Women’s Health Task Force. From the doctor’s office to federal research, women’s health has taken a backseat for too long. This initiative can help women live longer, healthier lives.

By harnessing super intelligence to accelerate medical discoveries, speeding approval of new treatments, and making breakthroughs more accessible and affordable, we can transform women’s health and deliver real results.

Thank you to the First Lady for leading this revolution in women’s health.

What would the real cost of socialism be to the American economy?

Over ten years…
🏥 Medicare for All: $47.4T
🎓 Student Loan Forgiveness and Free College: $3.6T
🛂 Open Borders and Amnesty: $440-613B
🌱 Green New Deal: $370B
🏠 Universal Rent Control: $16B

[The White House @WhiteHouse]

REMINDER: 7 of the policies in the Democratic Socialists of America’s 2026 platform would add $49T to federal deficits.

That's $355,000 PER American household, paid through higher taxes, crushing debt, or both.

A strong workforce starts with training. Armored Trucking Academy is helping Tennesseans take the next step toward a career in the trucking industry. Thank you for the hospitality and for showing me the great work you all are doing, preparing future professional drivers, and strengthening Tennessee’s workforce!

For four years, President Biden and Border Czar Harris lied, saying there was nothing they could do about the border.

Yet President Trump took action by:
➡️Declaring a National Emergency at the Southern Border
➡️Reinstating the Remain in Mexico Policy
➡️Ending Catch-and-Release
➡️Resuming Construction of the Border Wall
➡️Expanding Deportation Operations
➡️Restricting Asylum at the Southern Border
➡️Ending Biden-Era Immigration Parole Programs
➡️Designating Major Drug Cartels as Terrorist Organizations
➡️Strengthening Immigration Vetting and Visa Restrictions

[Republican Study Committee @RepublicanStudy]

For 4 years, Americans watched the border crisis unfold while the Biden-Harris administration tried to gaslight people into thinking nothing was wrong.

The American people demanded change and Republicans delivered the most secure border in history. We must protect this progress and hold the line against a return to Democrats' failed open-border policies.

[Rep. Matt Van Epps @repvanepps]

On this day, freedom won. On October 19, 1781, British General Lord Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown, Virginia. This was a decisive victory that secured American independence and proved that a people determined to be free could defeat an empire. America wasn’t founded on philosophy alone. She was founded on courage, sacrifice, and the unshakable belief that liberty is worth fighting for.

Access to quality kidney care makes a meaningful difference for patients and their families. Thank you to the DaVita team for the work you do to support patients, strengthen our local healthcare workforce, and help Tennesseans living with kidney disease.

[Rep. Matt Van Epps @repvanepps]

I’m proud of my voting record in Congress and grateful for the recognition reflected in these conservative scorecards. These ratings reflect my commitment to defending our Constitutional freedoms, protecting the Second Amendment, securing our border, standing up for the unborn, and fighting for fiscal responsibility.

The people of Tennessee’s 7th District sent me to Washington to stand firm on conservative principles, not compromise them for political convenience. I will keep fighting for the values we share, keep my promises, and faithfully represent the district I’m proud to call home.

On October 16, 1981, Task Force 160 was formally designated the 160th Aviation Battalion. From those beginnings, the organization that became the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR), better known as the Night Stalkers, would help redefine what special operations could accomplish.

Hardworking American taxpayers deserve to know that their tax dollars are being used responsibly to help those who truly need assistance, not exploited by fraudsters, scammers, or corrupt officials. We have a duty to protect our seniors, our disabled citizens, our most vulnerable neighbors, and every law-abiding American who contributes to these programs.

I proudly stand behind the Vice President’s Pledge to Protect Americans from fraud!
