If my guy dey do POS business, there is no reason why I should venture into the same business.‼️
A lot of people understand only money and forget the importance of relationships.
Must we compete in everything? Must we fight over every opportunity? Must we turn every friendship into a business rivalry?
There is enough room for everyone to succeed. If my friend is already doing well in a particular business, I can support him, refer customers to him and explore other opportunities.
Not every business opportunity is meant for me. Sometimes, the smartest thing to do is to allow the people around you to thrive while you find your own path.
Money is important, but genuine relationships are priceless. Don’t destroy a good relationship because of a business you can do elsewhere.
Learn to celebrate your people, support their hustle and build your own lane. There is more to life than making money.
Not everyone you will offend, and you will go free.
Someone from my village reached out to me to help him get this lady's phone number. (We are all in the village meeting group.)
They want to call her husband, who happens to be his ex-girlfriend's senior brother.
The reason for this calling is to beg him that they want to pay a visit to them in order to beg his younger sister (who he pregnant about 12 or 13 years ago and denied her); he wants to beg for her forgiveness.
I vividly remember this incident that year. This guy never wanted to deny the pregnancy in the first place, but his mother forced him to (because, according to his mother, the girl is short)
He denied this girl in front of the elders.
And the girl removed her slippers with tears in her eyes, packed up some sand from the ground, and raised it to the sun and said.
"You took my virginity. All my life I have never slept with any other man but you. When I told you I didn't see my period, you were happy and told me I should not worry that you will care for me. You took me to the hospital, and we ran a test and confirmed it. Only for you to deny ever doing things with me in front of my family and yours."
Then, the girl proceeded with the curse and called his name and said.
"If I were ever accused of this pregnancy or it's another man's child and not yours, may this pregnancy see my end."
"But if this child is yours, may you not hear the cry of a baby till the end of your life."
I remember what one elder told him that day, the man said to him.
"I know if your father is alive, he will never allow you to deny a fruit you planted no matter how ugly the land is."
"Nkita nwanyi zuru na atakwa akwa okuko, Igwebuike."
"Everybody knows you're dating this girl; nobody is forcing you to marry her. But please don't do what you will regret later in the future. When you start reaping these curses, this girl raids on you with Aja Ani Olo. Your mom might not be alive by that time, and only you will suffer it all."
Guess what?
This guy has married more than 3 times, even married two single mothers with 2 or 3 children.
But they all left him.
Maybe he finally realized where his problem is coming from, and he wants to amend it now.
The ex-girlfriend is married with children.
I hope she forgives him.
Life will test you in ways you never imagined. You will give your best and still be overlooked. You will help people who may never show up for you. You will work hard and wonder why success seems to take so long. But never allow the challenges of today to convince you that your story is over.
You are not behind in life. You are building.
Stop comparing your journey to people who started before you, had different opportunities, or are fighting battles you know nothing about. Your responsibility is to become better than the person you were yesterday.
Learn to move in silence. Protect your peace. Be disciplined when motivation disappears. Save your money, invest in yourself, choose your circle wisely and never sacrifice your future just to impress people who won't be there when things fall apart.
Remember, some seasons are not meant to make you comfortable but they are meant to make you stronger, wiser, and more prepared for the life you keep praying for.
One day, the discipline nobody noticed will produce results nobody can ignore.
Keep going. Your life can change in a year, but only if you refuse to give up on yourself today.
