Part THREE of our Three Part Series: What to Watch for with our new DPS School Board - A topic that brings the HEAT - the debacle that is DPS Superintendent Marrero. Remember this is pretty much THE JOB of our School Board.
Noticed DPS Board meetings (which this was) are, by law, open to “the public,” not just to “the public who we like.”
@CoFOIC #edcolo
True to form. Board members were voted out for same reason: blatant disregard for any opinions but their own.

Seems clear that during the tributes to outgoing @dps_k12 school board members that there were plenty of open seats
Even still…members of public told they couldn’t come in.
Seems odd…for a public meeting.
No?
@CPRBrundin@CPRBrundin Space was readily available but they decided only people on a private list were allowed in to the main Board room. At least 50% of that room was vacant. Other people were relegated to an overflow room in 14th floor. Imagine that in other scenarios…
Is anyone at the DPS board meeting tonight? We hear they are blocking a bunch of folks with a Resign DPS T-shirts from entering the public board meeting. Isn’t that illegal?
"What to watch for in the coming weeks" three-part series -
Part 1 - The fate of McAuliffe. Will the board shenanigans continue, or will our newly formed board bring some thoughtful leadership into the new year? https://t.co/0fRdXgNIG7
NEW LEADERSHIP Part 2 of our 3-Part series - "What to watch for in the coming weeks in our DPS School Board" (Hint: if we were the new board members, we'd extract some concessions from Olsen in exchange for voting for her! She's the most reasonable of remaining Board Members.)
Yes, we are still here for now. And yes, the DPS Board is still making terrible decisions. We've had lots of kind notes from so many of you and lots of questions about what's next. #1 - Stay engaged! Follow PSAG or Resign/Recall on Facebook. Show up at Board Meetings!
Especially interesting point here regarding the benefits to DPS of the investigation remaining open: no transparency, no CORAs, no accountability. Don’t quit know how they are getting away with this. But I doubt they will for long.
Four months ago, a DPS board member called a room inside McAuliffe a “prison”
An investigation commenced
Four months later, a mother of one of the two students placed in the room has yet to hear from any investigator.
“It’s very strange” she told me
