compliments are free. commitment is not.
today we saw it again in a meeting room.
every question asked was operational:
"where does this fit in our current system?"
"how long do the integrations take?"
"how do we use this across all our departments?"
"who owns this internally?"
not one compliment. not one "this looks great."
that first line is Rob Fitzpatrick's, from The Mom Test. praising something costs nobody anything, so praise measures nothing.
but questions do. nobody talks about setup details for something they will not use.
when you fit more than eight calls into a single day, you start to notice the moment a conversation moves from "can it do this" to "how do we do this."
today's was one of those meetings.
here is what Yağız and i learned: in the right room, you don't need to explain the product. the product starts to explain itself.
one by one, they all look ordinary. but a company is built by the sum of these meetings. every question we are asked today turns into an answer inside Vinson a few months later.
for now, what we talk about is questions. results are next.
we apply what we learn immediately. and we will keep learning and getting better.
no one can stop Vinson.
