I believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has God’s priesthood authority.
Reconciling that with the teaching in 1 Nephi 14:10 can be difficult. It states clearly that all people belong to 1 of only 2 churches, Christ’s or the devil’s.
I do not believe all those not of my faith are of the church of the devil.
So I seek to be in unity with all people not of my faith who are part of that great Church of the Lamb.
@CouchDewd@stackerco It’s a good answer, appreciate it!
From what you’ve said in this thread, I believe we both serve the same spirit ultimately, even if you don’t recognize it as Christ, and despite disagreements to prescription.
@HarmOrAccident@nicoraytruth The scenario hes positing if what if something happens to him and he’s dead and can’t raise his son. A very fair question. And the Church absolutely should step in
@CouchDewd@stackerco It’s a hypothetical man. I hear that you don’t believe the premise. But given it were true, which would you decide?
I promise this is not a gotcha. I’m genuinely interested
This is the issue with a too real hypothetical lol.
My questions grants the premise: that rejecting the god “delusion” and accepting the truth “atheism” (assuming your frame) will lead to humanity’s total death. I know not what you belive, but it is a potentiality.
Would you the say we should accept the lie or the truth?
@CouchDewd@stackerco Lol my previous self. But the more interesting one to me for you is the scaled one.
But what’s your answer to both? Individual and scaled?
@mfreivald Dude come on.
We’ve literally spoken on a space and it went totally fine. I’m not employing some stupid exhaustion technique.
You’ve got to decide whether you want to scream into a void or dialogue with people.
Ah ok Im grasping your prior better I think. Give me one more chance. This one will feel much more real.
Imagine if believing in an imaginary being in the sky turned out to produce substantially better behavior in the masses jsut because of the nature of the human biological system.
Should that false belief be adopted?
Now scale that: let’s say that it was discovered that the theists were right abt one thing - that if the God idea was rejected by the masses, that it would lead to total death of the race due to social breakdown leading to crisis - nukes, man made virus, whatever.
Would you say that we should adopt the god delusion in that scenario?
@mfreivald Ah yes, I forgot who I was talking to for a sec lol.
Forget abt analogies. Just make the argument without barbs or silly comparisons to frogs. Pure argument
@mfreivald I really can’t find your description of the difference apart from analogy. It’s posible it’s buried amidst the analogy tho.
Can you pull it out and lay it out without barbs or analogy?
Also I really do want to know why the differences I asked abt don’t matter to you the same
All you’ve made are assertions and analogies from what I can tell.
My questions are meant to explore more specifically what counts for you as a different Jesus - given those significant theological differences among trinitarians exist yet you don’t say they have a different Jesus.
And more importantly why that standard and how you justify it.
@TribeRuffner@moroni7_3 I probably agree it’s more an internal question.
Labeling the endowment masonic ritual is the main issue. I think that is not accurate because it’s not the same in intent and purpose, nor near as much influenced as is alleged.
@CaptMahonri@ben_n_jerrys_94 Y’all seriously need to repent. And no, i do not agree with John here and especially not with whatever that podcast is.
But this thread is just mean girl gossiping.
