My Dad is 78 and found out today that he was awarded a 2.1 in Modern Languages from ⁦@OpenUniversity⁩. He started in his early 70s. I am so proud of him. It turns out you can teach old dogs new tricks! I can’t wait to see him graduate. #itsnevertoolate 👨‍🎓

Just that! Some of us like to study and better ourselves. A well-paid job is not the only goal for a university graduate. I would have thought it's more important to be educated and think for yourself, rather than own a big house and a posh car. But what do I know? I'm a student!

A university is not a recruitment agency! And education does not exist to simply serve the economy. The value of an arts degree doesn't lie in a graduate's salary but in their ability to write, create, curate, argue and think critically - in this case about troubling policies
