In accordance with shifts in average ratings submitted by users on Reverberate, our affiliated ETF reduced holdings in AAPL, GOOG and WMT today and increased holdings in MSFT (in addition to other, smaller rebalances to minimize tracking error with respect to our benchmark).
Positive ratings for Microsoft (MSFT) were notably accompanied by comments praising increased openness to competition and innovation.
Negative ratings for Apple (AAPL) were notably accompanied by comments expressing concerns about pricing, planned obsolescence, and ecosystem restrictions.
Negative ratings for Alphabet (GOOG) were notably accompanied by comments expressing concerns about privacy and anti-competitive behavior.
Negative ratings for Walmart (WMT) were notably accompanied by comments expressing concerns about pricing and poor in-store experience.

The Reverb ETF $RVRB is fascinating. The fund’s holdings are weighted based on signals received from a mobile app in which users rate companies. Can such a strategy outperform the market and how exactly do these signals translate into actionable insights that the ETF can use?

Bc they are less than a year old and independent/no wall st backing. All about pretty straightforward economic incentives- if they can get significant AUM, should make prices respond to average ratings (“votes”) so public cos are compelled to care more about average wellbeing instead of just “wealth-weighted” preferences of the bill gates, etc of the world
