The last 24 hours of news as a woman:
- A man jacks off to the woman next to him on a plane. United makes her return to her seat.
- 7 frat boys drug and gang rape a student for hours, and advertise “free p*ssy” to their frat. Cornell makes them write essays.
- A football player rapes a student. LSU reduces his suspension.
- A teen boy stalks and stabs a girl 10 times. Courts grant only a restraining order.
- Brendan Carr spent 9 years in a cult raping teen girls. Trump made him FCC Chair.
@Gianl1974 That the laws of the United States have held, and that there is hope that democracy in the United States may progress toward "a more perfect union"--meaning that historic inequities might be dismantled.
@america I believe I am hearing pearl clutching.
God is, indeed, non-binary. The "he" distinction for God finds its way into modernity merely because of millennia of patriarchy -- one of the worst "man-made" systems ever.
BREAKING: Mayor Zohran Mamdani STUNS New Yorkers by releasing hidden 9/11 records which show that Republican officials misled them about the air quality near Ground Zero.
Meanwhile, Trump is lying about having helped with rescue efforts on that day...
"On Friday, we will mark 25 years since the worst tragedy to ever befall our city. The darkest day New York City has ever known," Mamdani said at a press conference. "And yet the devastating truth is that the suffering did not end once the smoke cleared and the dust settled."
"For so many New Yorkers who lived or worked or studied near Ground Zero, and for the thousands of others who worked on the pile, recovering those we lost and clearing the rubble, that was only the beginning of years of hardship and illness that would follow," he continued.
Mamdani's administration has now released over 170,000 pages of documents that were previously hidden from the public which show that city officials at the time (under Mayor Rudy Giuliani) knew that the air near Ground Zero was unsafe to breathe. At the same time, those officials were publicly lying about the issue and telling New Yorkers that there was nothing to worry about.
"Thousands of ironworkers and firefighters and office workers and so many more remember September 11th not just each time we mark the passage of another year, but as Congressman Nadler once said, each time they take a struggling breath, each time they have to swallow a pill, each time another chemo dose is administered," Mamdani went on. "And as the years pass and the human toll grows, we reckon with the cost of September 11th whenever another New Yorker is stolen from us too soon."
"Now, close to 25 years later, more people have died from 9-11 related illnesses than were killed on the day itself," he said. "It would be one thing if government had stood alongside survivors and provided them with everything they needed at every step of the way. And yet we know that could not be further from what actually happened."
"People got sick because the leaders they trusted lied and told them they were safe to breathe in toxic air," he continued. "And then when they began to contend with the symptoms of the illnesses that followed, the government that had not hesitated to send them into harm's way was nowhere to be found."
This is what real leadership and accountability look like. Mamdani is laser-focused on doing what's right for his city, which in this case means revealing the full unvarnished truth. The MAGA agitators who have been loudly demanding that he stay away from the 9/11 memorial events should be ashamed of themselves.

She was called Phillis, because that was the name of the ship that brought her, and Wheatley, which was the name of the merchant who bought her. She was born in Senegal 🇸🇳
In Boston, the slave traders put her up for sale: “She's 7 years old! She will be a good mare!”
She was felt, naked, by many hands.
At thirteen, she was already writing poems in a language that was not her own. No one believed that she was the author. At the age of twenty, Phillis was questioned by a court of eighteen enlightened men in robes and wigs.
She had to recite passages from Virgil and Milton and some verses from the Bible, and she also had to vow that the poems she had composed were not copied. From a chair, she underwent her lengthy examination, until the court approved her: she was a woman, she was Black, she was enslaved, but she was a poet.
Phillis Wheatley was the first African-American writer to publish a book in the United States.

Rosie O’Donnell has lived rent-free in Trump’s head for nearly 20 years. She knows how to shatter his ego psychologically better than anyone on Earth. Whatever you do, definitely do NOT retweet this video. He would absolutely lose his mind. 😂
