@Arkansas_Andrew Honestly curious what you mean by this. I was not a memorable student, but you precepted one of my Meth classes @DukeDivinity. Appreciated my theo ed there so much. Haven't run across your work/socials in awhile, so can't assume what you mean here. What should we rethink?
@JohnLomperis @FakeUMCDeacon Nothing grieves me more than seeing "leaders" scream into twitter echo chambers and talk past each other. And nothing gives me greater hope than turning my attention back to the good work God is doing through local churches every day.
@JohnLomperis @FakeUMCDeacon I'm more progressive on LGBTQ inclusion, for sure, but I was just saying this same thing about the integrity of my rank-and-file traditionalist friends compared to "leaders" who pit us against each other with ill-intentioned generalizations and attacks.
@bishop_dwp doing what she does best with a pastoral word at the beginning of afternoon plenary. #gratitude for church leaders during #covid. recognition that #gc2020 is postponed to protect inclusion of all Methodists from different parts of the world . #umcna21
@mikemchargue Take care of you and your fam, Mike. We're thankful when you share yourself, your learning, and your wisdom with the world. And your biggest fans respect your boundaries and want to help guard your wellbeing.
@UnvirtuousAbbey Ugh. I don't know a ton about them and don't watch the show. But this is so disappointing. My own act of resistance will be to reject their gorgeous paint color scheme for my new parsonage. Pray for my resolve.
@umjeremy Tend to be more self-deprecating in groups where I feel loved and secure or preaching contexts where I feel confident (read: privileged). Less so when I'm anxious or less sure of myself. Became more aware of this watching @Hannahgadsby#nannette
@rev_enc I pulled a muscle in the right middle of my ribcage and I know exactly how I did it...but I'm too embarrassed to say.
Concur. Getting old is terrible.
@betzfrits@ProfligateGrace@justinhalbersma@jkameroncarter I've long since had to repent of my conception that the white, euro-centric perspective of Christian doctrine I received the year prior to your CT32 class was more "orthodox" and within-the-box than what you were taught, which I perceived as a provocative commentary on the "norm"
