With the ability to stretch the floor from 3, he was undeniable at all 3 scoring levels. The 19U Salvadorian Team Member was key on the defensive end as well averaging 2.5 blocks per on the weekend.

Not only that, Scheyer actually signaled to to “the floor” to throw the ball up ahead to one of the two open players. No doubt in my mind that the young kid saw that and tried to toss it up court.

At the same time, we should now learn that there’s no amount of NIL money or namesake in the world that can grant a player Situational Awareness. That comes with experience and preparation.

To your point. They should have just held the ball in the back court and forced UCONN to foul. There’s no 10 second violation in this situation.
