We can't forget how Kohen Wiley was taken from his family. He was 1 year old when he was fatally shot by an officer responding to an alleged shoplifting call outside of a Walmart in Senatobia, Mississippi. His mother had to witness her innocent baby, who had barely begun to see this world, be killed. No parent should ever have to carry that image. Kohen deserved to grow up. His family deserves justice, and we will not stop fighting until they get it.

BREAKING: Trump commits his most pro-corruption crime yet by PERMANENTLY deleting the database that lists the "beneficial owners" of U.S. legal entities — meaning criminals can now easily hide behind shell companies.

"It's like Trump ordering the deletion of the FBI's fingerprint database," stated former Congressman Tom Malinowski.

We may as well have elected Al Capone to be President...

"I helped pass this law in 2020. It's purpose is to prevent drug traffickers, Russian & Chinese kleptocrats, and other international criminals from setting up anonymously owned companies to hide their money in the US. Trump's Treasury Dept. is doing this to help criminals," Malinowski wrote on X in response to the announcement from the Treasury Department.

In their post, Treasury touted the decision by their Financial Crimes Enforcement Network to "permanently" remove the requirement that entities report "beneficial ownership information." Worse still, FinCEN also stated that they "will delete previously reported information by U.S. persons from the beneficial ownership information database."

The White House didn't even bother to construct a plausible explanation for the world-shaking decision, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent instead offering up some platitudes about "common sense" and cutting "red tape."

But the motivation is painfully transparent. This administration is stuffed to the gills with white collar criminals. They're lining their pockets with sweetheart deals, running crypto scams, and constructing elaborate financial architectures for hiding and laundering money. This new decision makes it far more difficult for upstanding law enforcement agents to detect and prosecute these wrongdoings.

"'Beneficial ownership information'" is just a record of who actually owns a company. That's all that was being reported here, so that we didn't have LLCs in Delaware laundering millions of dollars through the US and into offshore banks on behalf of totally anonymous people," wrote Malinowski.

"Treasury deleting the beneficial ownership info it already gathered is utterly crazy. This database was not public -- it was just for law enforcement to use in investigating crimes. It's like Trump ordering the deletion of the FBI's fingerprint database," he continued.

"Why is the Trump administration doing this? I don't know. But it's certainly good news for rich Russians who want to buy his condos, or Gulf royals buying his fake crypto. The true identities of people he's done business with, if registered with Treasury, will now be deleted," he went on.

This particular point is crucial. Trump has been taking bribes out in the open (look no further than his Qatari jet) so one can only imagine what he and his family are raking in from foreign governments behind closed doors. By deleting this database, he makes it much easier for America's adversaries to funnel money to him and his cronies. This isn't just criminal, it's downright treasonous.

"Last but not least, this is totally illegal!" added Malinowski. "Congress passed a law -- with strong Republican support BTW -- saying Treasury had to collect and keep beneficial ownership info. The Trump administration cannot say 'we're just not going to do it.'"

"This will find its way to court. It will be struck down. But the deletion of data currently available to law enforcement may be irreversible," he concluded. "It's one of the most lawless and corrupt things this administration has done, and that's saying a lot."

The illegality would be relevant under any other President, but with Republican control of Congress we can safely presume no action will be taken until after the midterms when Democrats obtain subpoena power. And since we likely can't undo the database deletion, we need to investigate and prosecute everyone who was involved in it.

Those Republicans, most prominently Rand Paul, are desperately trying to smear Dr. Fauci as a monster. They're crafting a false narrative that accuses him of misleading the public and intentionally causing more deaths. In reality, Fauci steered our country through a historic disaster, urging us to wear masks, socially distance, and get vaccinated while conservatives were spreading misinformation.

At one point in his segment, O’Donnell slammed Senator Paul, who has said that he wants to prosecute Fauci, for expelling the doctor's attorney from the hearing room.

"Throwing the lawyer out of the room? Joe McCarthy at his worst never did that," said O'Donnell. "Joe McCarthy was an alcoholic Republican senator conducting phony witch hunts of suspected communists in the 1950s in a Senate hearing room and he never did, never did, what Rand Paul did today. Throw the lawyer out of the room? That is how weak and lost and deranged the Committee Chairman Rand Paul is."

This hit job on Fauci is the result of a Republican Party that has become completely untethered from reality. The MAGA base has swallowed countless insane conspiracy theories about Fauci and now the politicians are pandering to those delusions. At the same time, focusing on Fauci allows them to obscure the fact that Donald Trump completely botched the federal response to COVID-19, resulting in over a million dead Americans.

"[Anthony Fauci] does not owe them an answer to a single question," O’Donnell continued. "He's already answered every one of the questions that they were throwing around that room today. He's answered them many times in congressional testimony and in other interviews."

"Every one of them, every one of those questions, he's answered in previous appearances," he added. "Sometimes news stories come down to a very simple right and wrong, and this is one of them. Anthony Fauci is right, and every one of those Republican senators is very, very wrong."

He downplayed it from the very start, undermined experts, and spread dangerous misinformation.

Meanwhile, Dr. Fauci did everything in his power to save as many lives as possible, urging Americans to wear masks, socially distance, and treat the coronavirus like the deadly threat it was. He's an American hero.

If anyone should be hauled in front of Congress to testify about their behavior during the pandemic, it's Trump.
