@elonmusk How can one reason about the emergence of AGI in the near future if, when asked "how to get to a car wash 500 meters from home", Grok answers — on foot.
Malahit Mlite-880 – SSB/AM/FM shortwave receiver. The noise reduction feature works really well. Bluetooth support included. For $247.35 https://t.co/5UiLkqLzk8
I may have found the source of the powerful clicks on the airwaves. It's likely China's over-the-horizon radar (OTHR), due to the ongoing military exercises near Taiwan. https://t.co/avwbn07nRq
A powerful clicker has appeared on shortwave. It is most often observed in the direction of Asia. I listened on several WebSDRs. You can observe short powerful clicks around 21 MHz. It might be some kind of over-the-horizon radar.
The AD9371 chip has been around for a long time, but it never gained the same mass popularity for building TX/RX SDRs as the AD936x. On top of that, the evaluation board used to be prohibitively expensive. Now for $275 and have live 100 MHz bandwidth https://t.co/N3bEgsBu7x
@aholtzma I didn't know about those features of the AD9371 -thanks! I wasn't able to add the part about trying this chip in PhantomSDR and digitizing a 100 MHz bandwidth. But it's hard to say what the network load would be.
