The gay steel mill, the timing, the execution, Homer's increasing horror at the unfolding events. "Everybody Dance Now" is playing over the speakers. I love how you can see the punchline from a mile away, yet it's still hilarious.

@Dame_dej25@captaincupkick Kevin Feige wishes he could direct or write like Joss Whedon did.
Whedon was a shitty person that made great art - it's important to have nuance, not erase it.
@Crow_T_Lorebot@FunMovieTVFan Mason in the film
"In charge of what? Fucking me over for another three decades?I've been in jail longer than Nelson Mandela, so maybe you want me to run for president."
Mandela was locked up for 27 years - so Mason was locked up for at least 28 years. Which would be 1968
@Crow_T_Lorebot@FunMovieTVFan In which case he couldn't have been locked up for 33 years. For the films on timeline to make sense he needs to have been locked up in 1962-1963, escaped, then arrested again in under 6 months 1963, then escaped again sometime in 1972 before getting caught again in under 6 months
@Brian_T_Collins@FunMovieTVFan I'd say the bigger flaw is that Connery plays the two roles completely different- Mason has none of the charm and sophistication of Bond and has all the rough edges Terence Young sanded off Connery. They don't feel like the same man at all.
This is so cute but it’s absolutely sending me that Dolly made Sabrina change the lyrics from “don’t embarrass me motherfucker” to “don’t embarrass me like the others” but let her keep the premise of the video being that she beat that man and threw him in the back of the truck
@StarRogues@B00MHILDA@FreeRubyJames@spatz447@CinXperience How can it be a better Iron Man film when it doesnt feature any of his supporting cast besides Rhodey?
Iron Man 3 has him meaningfully engage with his PTSD, features his supporting cast and pays off the relationships and emotional arcs built over the trilogy.
In 2021, The Simpsons' most reclusive writer from its golden era did an interview and in the middle of it, he gave one of the best writing tips I've ever heard. Like it's legitimately something I still think about and utilize all these years later.
This section in the wonderful Mike Sacks interview with John Swartzwelder is the most revelatory thing I've ever read about the writing process. https://t.co/00SiHQzKvU
@ghostfivenine@RedLReviews And looked what happened with BvS- terrible critical reception, negative reaction from fans and a huge box office drop in its second weekend.
With its opening numbers it should have easily crossed 1 billion, but it didn't.
BvS failing to compete was part of the problem.
@chesterbells1@freddygetready@gem_ste The Paradiso Gimme Shelter from 95 is better than any performance of the song they did with Mick Taylor- and matches the atmosphere of the record.
