india ke paas paise ki kummi nahi hai. awareness ki hai.
BioCompute, @y_unstoppably 's company, has raised over 5 crores over the last 2 years from: WTF fund, Grad Capital, 1517 Fund and more.
If I wrote about all the awards that she has won in the last two years, I would miss the point.
The point is: she is leaving. For two reasons:
1. Capital
2. Talent
In one of the many conversations i have had with her, this one stuck with me:
"There are Indians in the US who I know I will be hiring. They don't want to raise their kids there. They want to come home."
So this isn't about talent either. It's about money. If there's capital for people like Anagha, starting with Anagha, the dam will break.
Bring our men and women home. Spread the word. If you're a VC interested in being part of BioCompute's Seed round, email me: [email protected] or check the link in bio.
And by the way, this isn't a last ditch effort to help Anagha raise her Seed round. She has commitments in SF. that's quite literally why she is moving there.
This is a small attempt to keep bleeding edge DNA storage technology within Indian borders. I believe in Anagha.

@Puyangan5 how is total capacity inside state a good proxy for PPAs signed? Delhi should fail miserably by that metric given it imports all its power? So do many other states?
You look at wrong places for tech investments ..
Cos like Ather, Lohum are doing far more foundational tech .. to an extent Ola too.
Core tech work isn’t happening in listed spaces in India
@bhaumikgowande How’re they cost though? Leads to more renewable energy consumption - which India will have in abundance .. also more data centers eventually mean data sovereignty?
@MandarSawant184@Pe4seve9ra5ceup bhai - please refrain. India isn’t a localized grid system. GJ has high generation because it has high wind speeds and GHI conducive for renewables.
Please refrain.
@MrBsCoffee30@TheOmnius That’s a poor argument - you’re unnecessarily curbing EV demand - no reason why petrol shouldn’t go up. Diesel I still understand
@sarthakmalik97@volklub Why is EV charging not feasible at home? Curious. Also E85 needs separate vehicles (flex fuel) - don’t confuse it with normal blending that happens today
@Mr_Vivekji@NewsArenaIndia You say you are banking and finance and display this gross lack of knowledge - what gives? Profits are reinvested into capex - even profits paid out as dividends to GoI are being invested as cape. Same for the excise (which was reduced to cushion the shock)
Bring down the real estate prices by 20-30% and see a lot of this change
Can’t emphasize enough how much expensive RE in cities has to do with insecurity of raising kids
30% of the people that I met in the US over the last week have 4 kids + 1-2 pets … both parents working, still finding time for kids and pets
Meanwhile, in India, it’s almost become a trend to have no kids at all, and give it a label like DINK
@swarajk_@learning_pt This is a really incorrect take - Indian real estate isn’t levered to the point American RE was. Most RE loans in India are for the purpose of consumption and not investment.
To say that we’ll have the same kind of impact US has is incorrect. If anything, it’ll spur demand
