Daniel Sanchez Estrada wasn’t accused of attempted murder or material support of terrorism after a protest turned catastrophically wrong outside an ICE detention center in Alvarado, Texas. He was convicted of obstructing the investigation by moving a box full of antifascist zines after the protest. U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor gave Sanchez Estrada a 30-year term.

The first opinion is in US v. Hemani, on the federal law banning drug users from possessing firearms. In an opinion from Gorsuch, the court holds that the prosecution of Ali Hemani under that law is inconsistent with the Second Amendment.

This is such an important issue for Floridians & I’m so glad that SCOTUS is taking it up. Most people don’t realize that Florida is one of a few states where you can go to trial on a life felony & have only six jurors decide your fate. Justice Gorsuch has criticized the practice.
