2/3 As the day progressed, staff was pampered with giveaways, including hotel stays and music therapy sessions. Staff then broke into groups to go on a nature walk, do yoga or jazzercise, create a charcuterie board, paint, make a vision board, holiday crafts, or relax w/ a movie.
1/3 During #WorldKindnessWeek, GACA leadership took some time out to focus on the heart. With educators being the heart of the school, they asked everyone to acknowledge those in the room who have made an impact on them, especially over the last school year, with a rose.
@missTayjay2015 @GSUEdLead You make a valid argument, Taylor. Professional development without doing the work needed to affect curricula and instruction will not yield positive outcomes. #GSUEdLead.
@NateilCarby@GSUEdLead Nateil, I completely agree. Leaders must be intentional about including a diverse group of voices to ensure that they are not reinforcing policies and procedures that hinder success. #GSUEdLead
@GSUEdLead A4: To avoid falling into an equity trap, school leaders should continuously work with their teams to build their capacity and address equity challenges in their building. #GSUEdLead
@j3schoeb@GSUEdLead Julia, this is a common and trap and the work is meaningless if the school system never gets past the stage of self-reflection and fails to penetrate the curricula, instruction, and policy. @GSUEdLead
@GSUEdLead A3: Spray-and-Pray Equity is the equity trap that sounds most familiar and the one I believe to be the most deceptive. We can train teachers on implicit bias, but without true buy-in nothing will change. #GSUEdLead
@KellyDKennedy@GSUEdLead Kelly, I completely agree. Leaders must not "lose sight of the deliberate daily actions that constitute the process." #GSUEdLead
@GSUEdLead A2: School leaders must be intentional about the practices, policies, and procedures they implement to ensure that they eliminate barriers that hinder success. #GSUEdLead.

@missTayjay2015 @GSUEdLead You make an excellent point, Taylor! Giving leaders an opportunity to be reflective and confront their own biases is an excellent way to promote culturally responsive leadership. #GSUEdLead

@NateilCarby@GSUEdLead Well said, Nateil! CRSL has to be authentic, and if the leader has not internalized these beliefs and aligned them to their core values, it will never permeate to the staff. #GSUEdLead
