@bobdigby @MrGeogWagg @kate_stockings On a different note, I’d be really interested to see whether there is appetite by depts for a split subject of human and physical geog. I often feel as though breadth is compromised and akin to the sciences should a level students be given a chance to specialise?

@MrGeogWagg @bobdigby @kate_stockings Having done much more prep for it and developed content around it, a change would be a bit of a pain. I do think the weighting of the tectonics unit relative to the content taught is ridiculous though

@missdcox Sometimes a straightforward search won’t give you separate papers though, so you need to preface the search with ‘notional component’. Which is not that obvious.

@EnserMark I only mentioned it when I moved job as my previous school was in SM, so I cited the section of the report which singled out my dept as setting an example for the school to follow. This seemed like a good selling point.

Naively I thought as generations pass through education around racism, homophobia, xenophobia, sexism, etc. would mean horrendous ignorance would effectively ‘die out’ alongside the readership of the media churning out this hate. Turns out climate change might get us all first.
