The thing that irks me most about @PatsKarvelas and David Speers, they seem to actually believe that their arrogance and ignorance is intelligence.

I find it ironic that Laura Tingle is being “counselled” by the ABC for her comments regarding Australia being a racist country..
…Which was bought to bear by the rancid howling of a right-wing frenetic media - who perpetuate and enable racism, division and hate at every opportunity..
.. but escape scrutiny and criticism every single time.
There is no balance in media when the scales are so misaligned. There is no fairness or truth when the valuable - and truthful - opinion of one is obliterated by the malicious opinion of the many who consistently foghorn freedom of speech when their own views are threatened by rightful legislation to control media ownership, misinformation and disinformation.

.. and Australia IS indeed a fkn racist country. Every single day of the week.
Voted early in Corrimal and was about to accept the YES guidance from a disabled man in a gopher. Guy in front in a strong American accent says to disabled man “you’re a turkey waiting for thanksgiving”. Commented how inappropriate and disrespectful his remark was. Unbelievable.
Unless it is expanded to include other countries - like the USA where virulent new strains are being detected, it appears discriminatory and at worst racist. Not helping new diplomacy with China.
Paul Keating:
"Australia was perhaps the most successful multicultural society in the world. John Howard put the torch to that. Now we live perpetually with the spectre of terrorism & racial strife, visited upon us by his prejudices and lack of judgment."
@kitscheart - would have been worth a shout in the heart of redneck country! - where they still think logging creates lots of jobs. More jobs in providing responsible access to the native forests.
Tweet of the week. Coalition policy beyond belief or logic. Even their supporter base is moving on this issue. Unless someone like Matt Kean assumes leadership, glued to Opposition for many years
Greens really know how to shoot themselves in the foot. Already alienating many who voted for them. Yes, #Greens aspirations resonate with many but pragmatism, reality and Pareto are needed to avoid the mistakes of 13 years ago. Small steps better than none. #ClimateAction
The Greens are threatening to vote against Labor's planned emissions reductions, just as they voted against the CPRS in 2009. The Greens need to learn how to negotiate, work with the government and stop throwing temper tantrums every time they don't get their own way. #auspol
Now is the chance for economic reset including a 2% across the board tax increase enabling debt clearance and progressive policy on energy, health and education https://t.co/dinCc7ReNX
And some ideologues, ignorant and or invested people are still unwilling to acknowledge the tsunami and the opportunities that flow accordingly #renewableenergy https://t.co/BWoOE80XYe
