can't wait til every university combines all its humanities disciplines into one Storytelling Studies department to be housed in the engineering division
"It is possible to mean well, to be caring and kind, loving one's neighbour as oneself, yet to be complicit in the corruption and violence of social institutions."
My article for the @NewStatesman on Gillian Rose, Auschwitz, and morality.

'One direct consequence of allowing genocide, though, is that, in order to excuse it, you have to pass all kinds of laws that destroy democracy from the inside'. https://t.co/eWZl423WXQ
"In their eagerness to forget, Israelis are sowing the seeds of the next catastrophe, allowing them to germinate in plain sight but out of mind."

🚨Israel is still bombing Gaza by air, land & sea until this very moment, despite Trump's ceasefire announcement
Israel has been bombing, shelling & blowing up robotic suicide vehicles in Deir Al-Balah, Khan Younis, Tal Al-Hawa, Al-Sabra, Al-Shati refugee camp...
"Hi, my name is Nico. I am with the participants of Sirius. If you are watching this video, we have been attacked or abducted by the Israeli armed forces. And we ask for you to ask for your government to release us, or to make something to keep this situation safe."
Gaza is foremost the destruction of Palestinian national rights, but it is also a laboratory of Western power: lifting thresholds of permissible violence, destroying rights to protest against it, and preparing for an era of mass surveillance and sequester of populations.
My friend Ghada, like so many others, was killed beneath the rubble of her home. Her family and friends were denied even the smallest act of farewell. In Gaza, closure has become a luxury no one can claim. Families go on with their lives carrying the tormenting thought of what has become of the bodies of their loved ones.
This is not closure, it is the opposite. The grief for those we love is eternal, but what has been stolen from us is the chance to say goodbye. The simple act of holding a hand one last time, of whispering a prayer, of laying them to rest with dignity. This, too, has been buried under the ruins.
In Gaza, there are no goodbyes. There is only grief without end.
Latest updates. There hasn’t been an explosion for about an hour, but multiple drones remain overhead, and we don’t know if they will attack again.
We can see the other boats by their mast lights, and you can see below what we can see: the horizon, the boats, and the explosions
If you want to understand what a farce this is, this is the minister who designated Palestine Action—the non-violent activists trying to stop the genocide in Gaza—as terrorists
Truly disgusting spectacle
Génocidaires posing as humanitarians with help of collaborationist PA
A reminder in case you forgot:
Israel holds 11,000 Palestinians in its concentrations camps, over 3,000 of them without charges, many of them children, many of them for years
This is what hell looks like — being forced to pack your entire life into bags, piling it on a car, & running again & again. Constant displacement, no rest, no home, no safety — only to realize you’re running with nowhere left to run...
