If you can be bothered to translate the replies, there’s a lot to enjoy
Portuguese people insulting Ronaldo while arguing with Indian kids about their own national team is such a special concept
Dilema buat ngecek VAR
He still doesn't get that it wasn't about Balogun.
Nobody cares about Balogun. He's bang average.
It was about the sport. A sport that this world cup has already tarnished with "Powerade hydration breaks" and will continue to tarnish with a pedophile presenting the trophy.
It was about the rules of the game. Things crafted over decades. Being thrown away because the aforementioned pedophile threatened the President of FIFA and forced them to
A) Make a completely unprecedented decision.
B) Lie to cover it up.
C) Force the rest of the world to listen to and read the dumbest takes imaginable. As well as laughable bullshit about section 27, VAR not being applied properly, "bang bang plays" and all manner of stupidity from a bunch of people who won't watch another game until 2030, or in some cases until we are all unfortunate enough to have to suffer through another World Cup held in America.
It’s great to have new fans of the sport, everyone is welcome but please have the humility to accept that you have no idea what you’re talking about and as a result, you shouldn’t have strong opinions about anything. Everyone with a functioning brain who has been watching football for more than 2 weeks understands the problem here and the reputational damage this is doing to both FIFA and US Soccer. So many people have worked so hard over the years to establish the US’s reputation in the sport and to be respected by the international football community, this does irreparable harm to that. I don’t care if you think it is a red or not, those decisions happen in football every week. Laurent Blanc missed a World Cup final due to a red card in the semi final which was clearly simulation but he had to accept it. Infantino needs to resign tonight, his consent to govern comes from all of us, he is a total liability.
🚨 Cristiano Ronaldo: “I will wake up tomorrow with same mood as I did today. I did my best”.
“I won three titles with Portugal, before me it was ZERO titles. I can only be happy”.
It is utterly fascinating how they manage to spin *everything*, even an extraordinary exception to the rules made deliberately for them, as "We are better / tougher / more fair than everyone else" 😲😂
Roberto Martinez has successfully ruined another golden generation. How this man keeps landing these high profile jobs, I’ll never know.
Portugal looked ATROCIOUS in this tournament from start to finish. Not one redeeming game. Absolutely baffling with the talent they have.
List of players to have their red cards overturned (or suspended) at the World Cup, since the card was introduced in 1970:
🇺🇸 Florian Balogun
End of list.
This is the end. The Final Dance is over. The King leaves without his crown 💔
That’s exactly the precedent that has been set now. That‘s why this should have never happened, regardless of whether you think it was a red card for Balogun or not.
We will now have politicians of every country call FIFA after every single World Cup game for all kinds of controversial decisions - making our sport a lot less enjoyable.
Just staggering to listen to.
He even calls into question the integrity of a FIFA referee. Will Infantino say something? Of course not.
Urgh, just awful. What a shame.
To be clear: Whether it is or isn’t a red to Balogun is now irrelevant. Government interference is a violation of FIFA Article 2 & 15, and the punishment is disqualification and suspension. Nepal was suspended.
This is an admission of the violation.
