@TimBowness@pineapplethief@burningshednews I sadly won’t be able to be at the gig in Norwich, but with it being such a one off, is there any chance that Saturday night might be recorded??
A couple of pics from last nights @TimBowness gig @100clubLondon Super energetic band and Tim leaping (yes leaping) around the stage like a man possessed. As ever, Wherever There Is Light made me cry, it always does, it’s a very special song to me. A brilliant night. Thanks!
@mrkinski@bsoord@TimBowness And weren’t they bloody fantastic? And very noisy to boot. I don’t think I’ve ever seen @TimBowness having quite so much fun on stage. Thoroughly enjoyed that. Well done chaps. And a big thanks to @bsoord and Jon Sykes for a terrific set too.
@MarkSGrout@Paytress Stereo works for me except for I Heard Her Call My Name, which is somehow even more ferocious in mono. I think it’s because the whole thing attacks you from one direction, like a huge slab of furious noise running you over.
@mrkinski As the years have passed I’ve realised that not only is Absolute Beginners one of DB’s best songs of the eighties, it’s simply one of his best songs of all. Arguably his most overly romantic song, the vocal is utterly brilliant. Triumphantly lovely.
@mrkinski@nomanofficial@burningshednews Looking forward to this dropping through my letterbox in a couple of weeks, along with Lost Not Lost volume 2. The world needs beautiful @nomanofficial music more than ever these days
@Paytress Regardless of actual release date, Another Green World is incredible. Gorgeous songs (St Elmo’s Fire is just beautiful), mysterious instrumentals and aren’t the titles so appropriate? It’s impossible to hear The Big Ship without seeing that huge liner sweeping majestically past…
@wearejames@wearejames were fantastic in Colchester last night. Hugely emotional, life affirming music. The power of collective singing and dancing was incredible. I first saw @wearejames forty years ago. Last night I sang along with my daughter. Love can change anything.
@heldbytrees Wonderful show last night by @heldbytrees in Chelmsford. Really powerful, beautiful music, played with great skill and so much love. Come back soon!
Ps: sorry but the pedant in me has to mention that the choir of Chelmsford Cathedral sang on Talk Talk’s ‘I Believe In You’…
@TimBowness Bowie, with almost any of his bands, was hard to top on a good night. But - hot take coming up - the two shows at Brixton in November 1991, with Bowie fronting Tin Machine, were two of the most intense gigs I’ve ever seen. Astonishing.
