A surprisingly effective way to get what you want is to not settle for less than what you want.
It doesn't always workโyou can't force the world to be a certain wayโand you may need healthy doses of patience and doggedness, but your life bends toward what you accept.
Something I taught my 12 yo: Most people underestimate how much the world can change, and practically no one can predict where the change will happen. The only thing you can predict for sure is that some very surprising things will happen.
Talent is like a 200 metre advantage in a marathon
You have the power to become world-class in anything you want, if you're willing to put in an insane amount of work.
Most people won't, but it's absolutely possible.
Whatever your limits are, you're not even close to them yet
And the stuff thatโll make you successful is uncomfortable. Not fun. Sweaty. Confrontational. Risky. Easily procrastinated.
So get focused, get off twitter, and stop being a soft glutton in this cozy world the successful people have created for you.
This talk is inspiring and so true.
This is the most important mindset you must bring to everything. Never forget it.
It's all on you.
No complaining about anything ever. Make it happen!

Do you ever think "That's for other people, not me"?
Wipe that thought out of your mind forever.
Think of all the people who have accomplished far more than you with far fewer resources.
If it doesn't stop everyone, it's an excuse, not a real barrier
You meet minimum requirements
For ANYTHING you want to do. You're good enough. You can do it!
Sounds empowering, until you realize:
You have nobody to blame but yourself if you don't make it
Don't live with regret. The life you want is possible, so do the work to make it real
@Nicolascole77 Why would anyone want to read an article by me thatโs not about something I know?
What does it even mean to not write about what you know? Honesty curious
The safe path doesn't exist anymore.
We're all at risk of having our livelihoods upended by a global workforce, automation, and a world that is changing faster than ever.
But we're not doomed.
There is one skill we can all learn that will help us navigate an uncertain world
