A little late on getting this out. Richies first season of track with Spalding university has come to a close as the team traveled to Greenville university for the SLIAC Outdoor championships.
Richie has leaned so much, made improvements on technique, and tried some new things this season.
An elbow injury kept him from competing in shot put and javelin. He was able to compete in hammer and discus, he got a PR in hammer with a 32.92m (108ft)
He placed 9th in hammer and 10th in discus. Words can’t say enough of how proud I am of him In his first season. Can’t wait to see him improve and be ready for year two!

My son Richie finished up his freshman year of indoor track & field for Spalding university. He finished 4th in weight throw and 5th in shot put at the SLIAC conference meet held at Principia.
Words don’t say enough of proud i am of how far he has come since high school. Richie has managed to PR in just about every meet this year. I am excited for outdoor season to start. Keep up the hard work RIchie!!

Congratulations to @richiethrows05 on his 5th place finish in today’s 2A State Meet. He has put in a ton of work and we can’t wait to watch him at the next level next year at Spalding University!

Congratulations to Ava Phillips for placing 7th in today’s Class 2A State Meet in discus. She’s another one of seniors that will continue her athletic career alive at EKU next season. Coming off an ACL injury this past summer has put in a ton of work to get back out there.
