It was a day of mixed emotions for the nine Irish competing in the R&A Boy's Amateur Championship at Glasgow Gailes, with four, led by Harry O'Hara, advancing to the knockout stages.

@JamesBrowneTD Does the bill provide for any support for sporting bodies to educate participants or support measures to prevent anti corruption or indeed provide a mechanism for them to be compensated by firms who utilise their activities and events to provide gambling products for profit?

@rocshot Add in the recent decision by Government to allow the proposed National Cricket Centre to go to pre tender stage and hopefully more funding by way of the LSSIF, cricket in Ireland is well on the way to getting more places to play! I for one, think the government are doing great!

[Richard Fahey @richjfahey1]

@rocshot When you include local authority allocations and multi sport allocations that have a cricket element to them the figure rises to circa €1.8m. This is on top of the almost 490k in allocations for equipment in May and brings the total to circa €2.3m!

@ThomasByrneTD This is great news, Minister.
The sporting community thanks you! 👏
