Nothing makes me more patriotic than football, but some on my England tweets don’t seem to like it.
Call us colonisers like it’s some sort of win? Don’t care, the only thing anyone alive today has colonised is a vegetable patch, but it’s history we don’t deny.. unlike some.
My pride comes from the resilience and ‘stiff upper lip’ attitude that came with the World Wars and was passed down through generations. It comes from the diversity flag bastardisers try and tell us we should be ashamed of because it’s all bad. It comes from watching Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice etc play for the badge and watching Ollie Watkins score that semi-final goal, the pints unnecessarily thrown in the air when someone scores, and from the sarcasm and wit the rest of the world struggles to understand.. I could go on, but most importantly it comes from thickly cut pub cheese and onion cobs (it’s a cob).
Apparently everyone but us can be proud of who they are, but you can fuck right off if you think I’m going to be guilt tripped into being anything but proud to be English x
@BenInRushcliffe Personally I hoped he would do well. Im not a Labour voter and didnt like some of the policies but thats life, no reason to hate the guy...until he he started calling everyone far right. Thats not disinformation, I heard him say it. The division he is causing is palpable.
@thatmarkperkins Nice to see them all enjoying themselves. Most of these guys will have great grandparents that suffered or fought in the war. Each to their own I say. Shame there is a camera so judgy, stay-at-home , internet stalkers can demonise them. Go you.
@joe022020@BradfemlyWalsh Tbh, beheadings and all that dark stuff shouldnt be available to anyone easily. Stick all that crap behind a paywall and ID the ghouls who want to see it. There has to be a middle ground on this.
@joe022020@BradfemlyWalsh Well, of course not. I do get the argument, but I would prefer stronger regulation on social media platforms and the content they offer. Solutions such as kids youtube, easier parental controls. An outright ban is draconian and its unworkable anyway.
@joe022020@BradfemlyWalsh Because I'm a parent. It's my job to prepare my child for the world he will become an adult in. Used well, social media can be a fabulous benefit for a child. Its not hard to regulate his time on it and the content he can view.
@BradfemlyWalsh Haha, quite the opposite. I'm glad that my lad has had limited, parent controlled access to some social media from a young age which has allowed us to explain and influence when he is younger and more likely to absorb guidance.
