Of course @Jim_Gardner takes a moment during his farewell broadcast to stress the essential role of a free press in our democracy. A class act to the very end. Thank you for 46+ years of excellence, you will be missed.

[Richard Rys @RichRys]

Much like the “Commonwealth renovation” last night, it’s been a blast writing about this show for so many years. Thanks to all who’ve been along for the gory ride.

@bootymcbuttbutt Thanks for the kind words! We’ll all get through this together.

@NBCSPhilly @marczumoff This is almost as big and shocking a loss as the end of the Sixers season. What a class act and an irreplaceable voice. Best of luck in whatever lies ahead!

Looks like someone’s taking the under for Eagles wins this season.

[Richard Rys @RichRys]

@bigtoddybintch Thought the Negan finale was as good as this episode was bad.

[Richard Rys @RichRys]

@Slug4302 Sorry I’m embarrassingly late to reply. I’m in favor of anything that helps erase the memory of that last season. Optimistic about a new and better ending.

“From the genetic information, it's clearly not an engineered virus,” says Dr. Elodie Ghedin about coronavirus, which she is studying at her NYC lab. Most experts believe the virus passed from animals to humans, perhaps in the wild animal market in Wuhan. https://t.co/LcUN8D6d0w

Heard a sports talk host this morning praise the NBA for shutting down when it did. Great RealSports piece shows NBA, MLB, NHL and soccer were slow to act and likely contributed to extensive spread and many hundreds of deaths. Clip here, full seg on HBO. https://t.co/ibdKYP1QmT

@Muzza76460210 Just saw this—thanks for the kind words, glad you’re enjoying my recap ridiculousness!

[Richard Rys @RichRys]

@cob_guy It’s an honor to be mentioned in this company.

@SEPTA_SOCIAL I honestly didn’t catch either. Male driver, right around 9am.

[Richard Rys @RichRys]

@SEPTA_SOCIAL Nearly got run over by a bus turning onto Chestnut at 30th Street 10 minutes ago. I had a green light to cross. Driver inaudibly yelling like I was at fault. Not the first time I’ve seen this happen. Happy Holidays!

[Richard Rys @RichRys]

@joelmmathis Ha! Consider this my holiday gift to you. Hope you’re well!

"It's about suppressing the truth." Worth reading this thread and also the CJR piece that sheds light on how the Singer story was reported, killed, and reborn. https://t.co/aLGGDMShZo

[Richard Rys @RichRys]

@M4thewKeen Sorry for the slow reply, glad you enjoyed the piece. Don’t think Mitch sued Deadspin, long shot he’d ever win anything there except for perhaps a small settlement to make him go away. And that’s not what he was after.

[Richard Rys @RichRys]

@marcedwardstv Wish I’d seen this earlier—you’ve got the right recapper. Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed.
