@paradub @DCollingsHughes Whether that be university placement assessment (kind of controlled with APHRA ensuring standards of university registration) or Ambulance service in grad programmes which on first glance seems to have huge variance in standards.

@paradub @DCollingsHughes Apologies I said 'on the road', I recognise students do placement all over; I've had a varied career and support everyone to do so too.
The point wasn't necessary about the placement type but the standards being measured of learning clinical practice to protect the public.

@paradub Ultimately how are universities getting away with signing off keen/ambitious/enthusiastic paramedics as being competent to hold paramedic registration, yet they may have only completed 10-20 shifts on the road. It's failing students and patients.

@paradub As a new paramedic to Oz, the biggest/question I have is: What is the point in APHRA registration if a) experience or not you become registered and nothing changes post this 'grad year' b) ATP continues to exist with a variety of diff assessment standards of 'clinical ability'?

The vasovagal episodes definitely got more prevalent as we went down the age groups, and guess where we are now in the booster programme #ThinkOfTheChildren Just strikes me as not a very smart move which will do more harm than good, just to free up a small amount of waiting space

CONCERNS: With AZ, you only had to wait 15 mins if you drove.
As a vaccinator and ALS provider at vaccine centres, each day I've seen on average 3-4 people go dizzy/collapse/LOC with slow GCS improvement....

@liams123456s Some notes I made a few years ago when discussing ROLE criteria in v.young paediatrics. In no way am I an expert, but your question rekindled something I'd tried to investigate years ago too. I was first led down the path of cadaveric spasm, but this I think was quickly kyboshed!

Some courses teach you, some show you, none really create the extreme scenarios as @ATACCFaculty and push the boundaries of simulation. Incredible course and experience this weekend.

I never really thought about the dangers of someone imitating a health professional until discussing vaccines with anti-vaxxers who state "I'm a ........." and having misinformation continuosly brought up
