Let me share a quick story about one of my amazing colleagues, Representative Jeff Burton.
On the last week of the session, I ran into Representative Burton in the parking garage around 11 PM.
(If you know anything about the legislature, you know that the last week is extremely hectic, and most days go from around 6 AM to 11 PM or later.)
After catching up for a moment, I asked Representative Burton which hotel he was staying at in SLC (he lives in the Spanish Fork area - about a 45/50 minute drive).
He said “Tyler, I’ve spent so many nights in a foxhole, tent, mat or otherwise abroad, if I have the chance to go home & spend time with my wife - I do it.”
It’s really an honor to serve with such tremendous leaders like Rep. Burton & needless to say - I drove home too.
