I tried to break it down in a short video, if I misunderstood some concepts feel free to correct me as I am here for the learning and not the teaching. Thank you and take care!

Day 2 of the Haskell Challenge. Today I mostly focused on understanding what 'referential transparency' means, in both the computer science and linguistic context. It was confusing at first but I am sure it will eventually click within the next 298 days.

My thoughts and learnings after my first day (but not first attempt) of learning Haskell. I had fun streaming this live, thanks so much to everyone who joined me today!
Let's do this for real. I can't wait to look back on this day after reaching day 300!

Haskell learning update:
- [1,2,3] is syntatic sugar for 1 : 2 : 3 : []
- pattern matching in Haskell is hard to get used to (for me)
first :: [a] -> Maybe a
first [] = Nothing
first (x:_) = Just x
but (x:_) is pretty cool
- guards combined with pattern matching is fire
In my experience, you can work on this. From what I have observed, the smarter you are, the more difficult it is to speak publicly because you will question many things others won't. It will take time and effort.
The most important thing is that you learn to like or accept your own voice. For example, in voice messages to your friends, recordings, and idk what.
Good luck and all the best!
One thing is sure: I will always have a job, simply because I find it too boring not to work.
I was and stay open minded to anything and am not attached to what I am currently doing at all π€·
AI psychosis is real? Fascinating how convincing those people can be, about AI taking our jobs.
Sometimes I wonder whether I have a psychosis, or if they have visions. Nor are healthy.
No doubt, there will be a shift in society, like there has always been. Jobs will go and others will be created.
Bus drivers may become "remote bus driver supervisors" making sure AI buses don't crash into walls.
Or developers becoming "AI agent supervisors" (fairly doubt).
So many possibilities.
Actually it's way easier than what people might think:
- Keep your total calorie intake lower than what your body naturally burns
- Do whatever you like to do at the gym, it has absolutely no effect on weight loss
The easiest is a fitness tracker that estimates your daily calorie burn and a calorie tracker to estimate your daily calorie intake π
I couldn't find any real use case for Hermes Agent. While everything sounds super promising and perfectβ"Agent that grows with you" or "never forgets"βI was surprised by how little he actually remembers and how little autonomy he shows.
So I've benched him. Now he's sitting in some Discord server, being mocked by my friends and me for how little he remembers. But the next day he'll have forgotten, so it's fine.
