@hackagibson@bnicholsonsmith@mattsekeres When did I “treat it” that way? Seems to me like you are making assumptions. I never said it was dead on arrival. I in fact ended my post with “Good luck”.
@hackagibson@bnicholsonsmith@mattsekeres Two things (their proven track record of losing franchises AND a potentially historically low dollar) can’t be true at the same time?
@hackagibson@bnicholsonsmith@mattsekeres I never said it was a joke, or impossible. But this will be the era of a 60 cent Canadian dollar. Good luck to the city.
@sportscaddy@CanMNTonly As for Marsch, the shtick was fun for the first while but when it really mattered and with the whole world watching, it felt like Herdman 2.0: performative over productive. Results must be the only measure going forward, and 2030 will be the real test.
@sportscaddy@CanMNTonly The golden generation includes Davies, Kone, Flores and Cornelius - none of whom played vs Morocco. In the end, they beat who they should’ve, lost to better/more experienced teams and tied a Bosnia team they should’ve beat at home - all while Davies put Bayern ahead of Canada.
@199Football Not to nitpick, but this was actually a Round of 16 match. And Italy did this with 10 men after Zola received a very questionable red card late in the game. Italy then played Spain in the quarters, Bulgaria in the semis and Brazil in the final.
@davehydesports@OmarKelly You have been one of my favourite writers (and podcast cohosts/guests) for all things Dolphins. Hope to continue being able to read and watch you. All the best from Canada.
A few decades after having read @macleans weekly growing up, I now have my own article in that same publication (even if it is "just" online). Pretty humbling moment.

On this day in 1980, Terry Fox began his Marathon of Hope. He would go on to run 5,373 km in 143 days, raising funds and awareness for cancer research that still continues to this day. Fox's legacy reminds us that a courageous person can change the world
@JohnnyGiunta_ The team doesn’t suck. The bats are taking a bit of time to get going. Fine. But Little must go, whether to the minors, or a curb. Gone, immediately.
I sincerely hope that mine is just one of many portraits of Prime Ministers from both parties that will continue to be hung in the Parliament of Canada for decades and centuries to come […] but that will require that in these perilous times both parties whatever their differences, come together to preserve the independence and unity of this blessed land.
